Hand surgeons are certified surgeons who are also experts in the function and structure of your wrists, hands and forearms. This allows them to treat arthritis, carpal tunnel, trigger finger and tennis elbow, most of which tend to result from repetitive and excessive use of the corresponding joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Hand surgeons also commonly work with patients who have fractures or broken bones from any kind of accident. If you're experiencing any kind of general pain in your hand, wrist or forearm that isn’t going away, a hand surgeon is probably your best resource.

Went to the Doctor with my wife , after talking with him and discussing the situation with the joint in question, he examined her and then suggested she see professional help for psychiatry! What? He was professional in the suggestion, but after she was in tears and convinced him she was in a lot of pain, he took a ex-ray, followed by a MRI and came back in the room and apologized and couldn't believe she had a tear that bad and he couldn't tell it by her initial exam. The trust was lost when the doctor didn't believer her from the start and questioned the patience state of mind! She hurts! We had her surgery at a different surgical group in Lincoln. I am glad to report it went well and she is doing great. I thought the doctors premature evaluation was one of the most unprofessional things I have witnessed and we where just flat upset after leaving. It was a waist of 4 hours and to be question about her state of mind was ridiculous.
I had a knee replacement with a "visionaire" style/type replacement and it minimized my recovery time to 3 weeks and pain was minimal. I would HIGHLY recommend this physician, this office, this physical therapy group, and this particular replacement style knee to anyone. DEFINITELY check out your options!!!! They are up on technology and its benefits to the patient!!!
Relies on the PA for most everything. Don't expect to speak with the doctor on the phone. Can't guarantee you'll see the doctor when you make your appt with him. MRI's hard to read, that's just a fact for any doctor. Appreciate he is conservative. Don't appreciate he forgets who I am, compares me to other patients instead of an individual, and does not come to see you after surgery. Won't even take a phone call after surgery. Only the PA.
After having surgery that didn't work from my first surgeon I was referred to this doctor to have another surgery. I was asked for all the out of pocket money that my insurance didn't cover up front before the surgery, found that odd, and it strapped me financially, so, I proceeded to have surgery by him which became badly infected which consequently ran into third surgery which I waited 6-hours to even get there. Even though he apologized profusely for the infection I still have no guarantee I will be okay, I hope I don't have to face an amputation. I realize infection is part of the risk when you have surgery, I am very frustrated, and slammed with medical bills and incredibly worried. Kansas client
