Dr. Sugrue is very knowledgable and will not reccomend a surgery if there are other avenues. He performed a discectomy/Laminectomy on me and It went very well. His staff at Advocate Lutheran General as very nice. I also love his PA, Ari, she is fabulous.

I had severe back pain. Dr. Sugrue proceeded prudently. He ordered an MRI as well as x-rays. The outcome was that he ordered a course of physical therapy His final words to me: you are not even close to needing surgery I was very impressed by his careful approach to my situation. I highly recommend Dr. Sugrue

Dr. Sugrue is a fantastic neurosurgeon, he is precise and takes his time to insure the best outcome for his patients. I had lumbar spine surgery by another doctor 2 years prior who did a number on me. I found Dr. Sugrue and he repaired my spine and gave me my quality of life back. I am so grateful to him and his staff.

I was treated with such kindness and compassion. I loved that Dr Sugrue didn’t immediately jump into surgery, he tried every thing he could think of before hand. He also explained everything to us, and always answered all our questions and never rushed our appointments.

Dr. Sugrue presents the diagnosis and treatment options completely and neutrally. He spends a lot of time with the patient analyzing the options available to the patient. When asked he will give his considered opinion about surgery, but when the conversation has ended, the patient feels the final decision is theirs and based on the best information.

Dr Sugrue understood my issues and did all he could prior to surgery. We found that surgery was the only option. He then fought hard with my insurance to get the procedure approved. What he did with this procedure has saved me from future procedures, which is a great feeling.

Dr Sugrue spent more time going over all my scans and test results then the 18 other Dr's before him combined .He is a true physician in every sense of the word .
