Dr. Paul David Mullin, MD

My wife accompanied me to an appointment with Dr. Mullin to review the condition of my back with the goal to understand my condition and address what and how to do going forward. Dr. Mullin was timely, engaging and interested in my back, and whole body. An in office exam allowed him to evaluate my back and functioning. He clearly explained how defects at three points in my back will cause pain if heavily used, how to respond in those events, and suggested physical therapy to learn how to improve care of my back. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mullin in the future.

Very fine doctor. We had our issues, but Dr. M is the first one I thought of on reading a NYT book review about the history of medical treatment of women, starting with the word hysteria, which comes from uterus. The book is called Unwell Women, Misdiagnosis and Myth in a Man-Made World, by Elinor Cleghorn, reviewed by Janice Nimura.There is a culture throughout the world of medicine that dismisses women easily. Never once did I get that sense from Dr. M. In that, he is exceptional, and I appreciate him for it to this day.

Accompanying a new patient, I witnessed a "brain doctor" who gave a 20 minute interview, half of which was spent giving a standard memory test (writing his negative comments in plain view of the patient), never asking personal questions or making comments to put the patient at his ease. It is no wonder the patient doesn't wish to return. Mullin has a warm smile but needs to really care for the emotional state of strangers who come to him for help. After the short session, with a prescription for tests of course, the doctor left his office and passed through an otherwise empty waiting room where the new patient was sittiing and waiting for his prescription, without so much as a kind smile for the patient, whom he had recently bluntly announced (after the many memory test questions), "I have bad news!"

Great bedside manner! Listens attentively! Answers ALL your questions! Just a great person all around! I wish he was still in Rhinebeck. Caremark really lost a great doctor!

Dr. Mullin is by far the best doctor that I was being treated by until he left for upstate NY! Amazing person and excellent bedside manner. He doesn’t have an ego like others even though he’s absurdly qualified!!!! He’s the best doctor to be treated by. Always takes time to answer every question you ask him and he explains it in detail. He never rushes you out of the office and best of all, I believe that every physician should look up to him and treat their patients just as he does. And forgot to mention that he has a great sense of humor. I really hope that he comes back down to the city!!!!

Dr. Mullin is a great doctor. Each visit he takes time with you to go over your case and answers any questions you may have. He explains things in laymans terms and never rushes you out of his office. He is very polite and so is his staff. I never write reviews for doctors and felt it was worth the time to write one for him.
