Dr. Peter Robert Quarles, MD

Quarles appears to be shedding patients as he phases out his practice. I have experienced consistently long delays from arriving at the office until finally seeing the doctor, a rude, incompetent, argumentative physician's assistant, and poor scheduling practices when the Dr. was out (and returning) for an extended period.

He is knowledgeable, patient

Dr. Quarles has been my physician for more than 20 years and I am both comfortable and pleased with being in his care. He communicates well and seems sincerely concerned with my welfare. Best GP I have had in my 87 years.

Dr. Quarles has been my PCP for the past 15 years and I have not really needed him until the past two years. The office was always the issue and you could never get into see him if you really needed to and they continually rescheduled appointments but I stayed with him as I liked him. I started having issues and he couldn’t see me so I went to urgent care and they seemed to help a little. I finally got an appointment after 2 months and he was concerned so he sent me to a Neurologist in there practice. They couldn’t see me for over 4 months so I called the office and his nurse told me that I if I didn’t like that I would have to find my own care, that is a great Doctors office. I took it upon myself to see multiple specialist through Florida hospital and found I had a tumor larger than my right kidney which they promptly removed. If I waited for Dr. Quarles I would probably not be around right now. All he seemed to want to do was push patients through and prescribe drugs. I… finally (after the office moving appointment) got an appointment to see Dr. Quarles for follow up and physical Friday. I called 2 hours prior to my appointment as I had another appointment after his and wanted to make sure we would be on time as appointments with Dr. Quarles normally ran 30-60 minutes behind schedule. I arrived 20 minutes prior to appointment and again asked if he was on time and the assured me he was on time. 15 minutes late they took me to the room, after another 30 minutes of waiting I got dressed and as I had to leave. As I was getting ready to walk out Dr. Quarles came in. Calmly I told him I couldn’t stay and I couldn’t do this anymore trying to explain the wait time and all I had been through but he told me “just leave” again I tried to explain and he said “what do think I have been outside just drinking coffee” I again tried to explain but he stormed out of the room telling “just get out”. Maybe he had a bad day but he never once tried to apologize for the delay and he made it seem like I was putting him out. I would caution anyone from using Intercostal Medical Group as they are not there for the patient and Dr. Quarles though he seems like a good Dr. after I witnessed his display I will never see him again.

gIves as much time as the gravity of the visit needs..remembered details of husbands condition ten years after his death,does as good a job as is possible within the limits of the contemporary medical scene and is genuinely involved in finding what is best for the individual patient.

Treated symptoms rather than trying to find the root of problems . Got really tired of hearing "That's normal for your age " . Found another doctor who actual puts some thought into my total care .

Excellent doctor! Knowledgeable and willing to share it. Accurate diagnosis provided the patient is able to supply personal data. Hard working and caring

Waiting for up to 1 hr and 45 minutes in the waiting room, I had a less than 15 minutes in the examining room and that included the nurse taking my vitals. Pushes those pills.

After waiting 1 hour and 35 minutes, the receptionist tells me the doctor is going to lunch and to make an appointment on another day. This is after I lost a morning's wages for an appointment I made more than 6 months ago. There, in the waiting room was a drug salesman all ready to take him to lunch.
