Dr. Phillip L Roslaniec, MD

Seems to not really want to be practicing medicine the last few years. Problems getting prescriptions called in, not accessible, generally not that interested in patient care.

Thank you Dr. R. for saving me from pancreatic cancer. You and your staff have helped Sue and I in so many ways. Thank you!

Have been to about three different Grand Rapids doctors. Dr. Roslaniec rates at or near the top of the list. His nurse Nicole is excellent and quick to call back with answers to any questions. Excellent health partner and glad to have him as my Doctor.

My husband and I were patients of Dr R's for over 30 years. In the last couple of years he has lost interest in his patient and it shows. We had an issue that only he could clear up and he refused to return our phone calls (4 in all). This is how he treats his patients after 30 years. When we finally threatened to come to the office if he didn't call us, he finally did. And even then, he refused to answer our questions. We have since switched doctors.

I was going to this office for some time with no problems as far as care and answers and then my Dr died. I was transferred to Dr Roslaniec who had a different nurse than my former Doctor. At the time I was having health problems that started 9 months previously that had not yet been diagnosed.. and was having numerous tests. I wasn't always getting the test results at home. With my old doctor's nurse i always got a call back, not so with the new one. It got so bad and i got so up set leaving a voice mail that the office manager called me and spoke to me in a condescending manner., some one forgot to tell her the customer is always right. On the last meeting with Dr R we went over all my results so far and I left the office. I could see he was at the end of his patience as still had no answer to my symptoms and i was not happy.. Afterwards i wanted to know some numbers off one of the tests and called back. The office manager called me saying that the doctor felt he answered all… my questions, didn't understand why i was calling back and that he no longer wanted to do business with me. I went into their office to get my medical records and the test results which the office manager gave me. First of all i have no respect for any one who has to use a third party to do their dirty work. The Doctor is a partner and one of the bosses, he should deal with any problem including an office manager who if it were me would be fired. He should also tell his nurse to return calls. They did me a big favor as i found a delightful , responsive , attentive lady doctor with a super staff.

This is more about the office procedures than Dr. Roslaniec, but I've relayed my concerns and don't even get a response. I would think he'd have a powerful voice for change there, if he chose it. The have office hours for 6 1/2 hours a day, and, although all phone "contact" is through an automated system, that system is unavailable when they're not "open" (including during lunch!). I've also had many occasions when they didn't get the prescription information wrong. Correcting that with the difficulty in contact means sometimes it's days before I get medication!

I've only been to this doctor three times so far, but I have to say I've been impressed thus far. I believe I've made an excellent choice since my doctor of 17 years was no longer practicing.
