Dr. Pompeo Almerico Lucciola, MD

I just want to put it out there that we saw Dr. Pompeo 3 years ago at Summit Medical Group Urgent Care. Because of his lack of expertise and misdiagnose, my son has been suffering with a related ear problems since. We thought he had to get surgery about 2 years ago but it was averted h/ever he was recently diagnoses with cholesteatoma (aggressive cyst that grow behind the ear) which might have been averted in the first place, if he had been treated properly for the massive infection that Dr. Pompeo diagnosed as impacted wax. Not only that we really felt strongly we should't have to pay for this visit but Summit Medical Group promptly had the collection agency asking for the money. We have not gone back to Summit Medical Group since.

My daughter woke up with a swollen eye and after taking her to her pediatrician who said it was nothing. I decided to take her one day later to PUC Group the next day because I felt something wasn't right. Dr. Lucciola diagnosed her with Orbital Cellulitis and treated her with antibiotics and told me if she started to get severe headaches to take her to the ER right away. She took a double dose of antibiotics and healed nicely thereafter. Ironically, two days later I read in the paper about a boy dying from this illness. Dr. Lucciola saved my daughter's life and I will forever be grateful. My son has seen him as well and he is a great diagnostician. I wish he had a private practice. Love him!

Dr Lucciola was gentle and patient with my son who typically doesn't let any Dr near him without crying and putting up a fight. I didn't feel like he was rushing through the exam at all and he gave me detailed information on how to best treat the problem.

I saw Dr.Lucciola with my daughter who was having fever and not feeling well. As soon as he saw her and examined her he immediately knew that she had meningitis. We were sent to the hospital immediately and after several test they confirmed the diagnosis and my daughter was admitted to the hospital. Thank you for saving my daughter's life!

After listening to our problem, Dr. Pompeo Lucciola examined the area for less than 2 minutes, gave us wrong diagnosis and did not physically attempt to do anything for the pain but recommended an over the counter medication to relieve the problem. Well after 5 days, still due to pain, we went to a specialist who noted a massive infection that needed oral as well as external antibiotics. Instead of getting better, this led to other problems and after 3 months of seeing the specialist every two weeks we are facing surgery. I told Summit Medical Group where we saw Dr. Lucciola we would not be paying for the visit. It is just a principle of having pay for a useless visit. A visit with wrong diagnosis that might of led to months more of suffering. The patient relations manager from Summit Medical Group wrote a letter saying Dr. Lucciola did nothing wrong and that we still owe the money. We received a letter from a collection agency about two weeks after. Why do they call it Patient… Relations if they are only there to protect their doctors, no matter how incompetent and just to ensure patients pay their bill no matter how undeserving... STAY AWAY.
