Dr. Richard L Drake, DO

I was originally seeing Doctor Thomas of the same practice. After Doctor Thomas told me he would and could fix my fractured vertebrae(s) and waited for over a month for surgery date, I got a call to set an appointment with Doctor Drake of the same practice. I was told that Doctor Thomas didn't think he had the expertise to do this surgery. Ohh my lord. I went to the appointment with Doctor Drake only to be told my back bones were crumbling and told to go to Physical Therapy and get shots for 12 months!! I did my research on these doctors and was convinced by the information that they were professionals to be trusted! This is very far from the truth. They are not to be trusted. No one should go to PT with bones that are "crumbling"!! I am so disappointed and worried. I am in so much pain and can barely move around. These doctors are dangerous and should not be trusted at all.

Dr Drake is very compassionate and caring with his patients! He communicates and keeps you informed of your surgery! I highly recommend Dr Drake and his team. Very professional ! If you need a great surgical team see Dr Drake

I absolutely LOVE Dr Drake! He has a very good bedside manner and I honestly don’t know if I’d be walking today if it wasn’t for him! He’s a great doctor and a great surgeon ??

Dr. Drake is very professional, thorough and friendly. He listened to my concerns and his approach of recommending only what is necessary complements my own approach. He clearly explained my back pain using my x-rays and MRI. I have confidence in his diagnosis and recommendations. I was very pleased with my visit, and my wife is arranging a visit for her father.

I was willing to give this physician a pass when he was extremely rude to my 67 year old husband and told us to "get out and find another doctor." After all, we all have bad days. But, I just learned that he treated my nephew the same way. I'm not sure what is going on with him, but there are plenty of good, caring surgeons in Tulsa and hurting patients certainly do not need to put up with being treated like a misbehaving child. His nurse was very compassionate and apologetic for his extremely unprofessional behavior. But, this is two out of two in just my family, and I think I can safely assume that we aren't the only ones being subjected to his rants. We are calm, professional people who treat others with respect. I can't say the same for him.

The doctor LITERALLY only spent 2 minutes in the room with me and acted like I wasn’t worth his trouble since my back issues weren’t bad enough to need surgery and I wasn’t jumping on the idea of having injections in my spine! Also told me my back issues were from smoking! Forget the fact that I’ve had VERY physical jobs that required me to lift up to and sometimes exceeding 300 pounds multiple times a day for 10-16 hours per day for the last 8 years! He was very rude and snub nosed and I wouldn’t recommend my WORST enemy to this man!!!
