Dr. Richard Sollazzo, MD

My daughter stumbled upon Dr. Sollazzo after my wifes MRI. Im so thankful for meeting him. Although he is a pay out of pocket Dr. You would be doing yourself an injustice if you put money before your health. While we do go to Northwell for bloodwork and imaging, we pay Dr. Sollazzo to ho over every detail. He is not overly expensive, and he will give you all the time you need. Its not a 5-15 minute office visit. Our 1st visit was 3 hours, and until the very last minute, he wanted us to ask question and write notes. Yes, he supplies a pen and paper. To alternatevly treay my wifes Lymphoma and EBV, he told up the exact foods she needs to eat, and the supplements to take. This is in addition to any treatment from Northwell. Ofcourse, I googled Dr. Sollazzos recipe, and everything is exactly as he said. Dr. Sollazzo knows this is new to us, and the many questions I have emailed him were all answered in a timely fasion. He's extremly knowledgeable, and as horrible as cancer is, I feel… confident, and have new hope for my wife. I can continue to write this review, but it will never end. I must add, the entire staff in the office is A+++. Please do not put money before your health. If you calculate the cost vs the time he spends with his patients, you will find he is grossly underpaying himself. He does this out of the love of life for his patients. George K.

Dr Sollazzo is a highly skilled professional who is board certified in internal medicine, oncology, alternative medicine and multiple other specialties. His extensive knowledge allows him to be an excellent diagnostician and he combines therapies to give superior results. I have been his patient for over fifteen years, and he has treated both of my parents. He discovered that I had mercury and aluminum poisoning and he successfully treated me with chelation. He assisted me with my diagnosis of breast cancer, coordinating my care with the surgeon and traditional and alternative medicine. With my diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, he offered treatments to help avoid the debilitating effects of this disease. He is a very caring physician with a great bedside manner and empathy. The office is beautiful and well organized. His staff is courteous and very helpful. I consider myself very lucky to be treated by this great physician.

Dr. Sollazzo is not a doctor but a miracle worker. He has saved my fathers life. His unique approach to caring for his patients and his dedication to their health make him an exemplary doctor. I am forever grateful to him and his staff.

Do not visit Richard Sollazzo. It is a waste of time and money. He did not even know what type of cancer my mother had, despite the fact that we had sent him in advance all of my mother’s medical records. I give further details below: My mother has stage IV cancer and is being treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering. We made an appointment to see Richard Sollazzo on the referral of a chiropractor. Sollazzo’s office asked us to send them in advance copies of all my mother’s medical records, which were voluminous. The office also had us pay $450 in advance, but assured us that the fee would be reimbursed by my mother’s insurance. On the day of the appointment, we drove 90 minutes to get to Sollazzo’s office. Once we got there, we were informed for the first time that actually none of this would be covered by insurance. We decided to go ahead with the appointment anyway because we had already gone to the trouble of transporting my mother all the way over to his office, and we (my… mother’s significant other and I) had taken days off from work specifically for this purpose. As soon as we met Sollazzo, it was immediately clear that he had not reviewed any of my mother’s records in advance. Amazingly, he literally did not even know what type of cancer she had. Within 5 minutes of meeting us, he immediately started to pressure us to consent to a new type of testing called "chemosensitivity testing”, which of course would incur significant additional fees not covered by insurance and paid directly to his office. One of his assistants walked in with a contract and stood there, pointedly waiting for my mother to sign. We later checked with oncologists at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and they told us that this type of testing is “quackery” (their actual words). I stress again that Sollazzo wanted my mother to do this type of expensive testing after he had only been speaking to us for five minutes, without any review of her records to see what kind of testing she had already previously undergone. Sollazzo then went on to recommend dietary changes and kept citing studies about the dangers of sugar. We kept interjecting to tell him that my mother was fully aware of this and in fact had been on a virtually no sugar diet for years, yet he continued to ramble on, trying to give us a bibliography of articles/texts about this topic. He next pulled out a book he had sitting on his desk about vitamin C and suggested that my mother get tested to see if she could tolerate high dosages of vitamin C. Again, that test would entail significant out of pocket costs. After about 40 minutes of his recommending treatments and not taking any actual information from my mother herself, or from her medical records, he finally did a few tests: weight, BMI, fat percentage. These were all extremely basic things that we could have done ourselves, had we simply walked into a Walgreen's or GNC. Sollazzo then continued to ramble on about the dangers of sugar, how mini-fasting could be another type of dietary change, and the need for exercise. The appointment finally ended with him telling us that there was nothing he could do for us until my mother underwent the tests he had recommended. Overall, his recommendations were of zero value and this appointment was an enormous waste of time and money. Anyone seeking further opinions for cancer treatment should see medical professionals who are affiliated with established institutions, rather than visit this man who was clearly only trying to get us to sign on for expensive tests that line his own pockets. His office ought to be closed down.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sollazzo and have found him to be well versed in his areas of expertise. He likes to work with the patient and not just tell the patient "do this, do that" and leave it like that. Dr. Sollazzo listens to you and, if he feels your input has merit, will consider how it relates to his possible treatment plan. A very good physician, and a very good human being.

The most knowledgeable and sensible doctor I've ever met. You will love his bed side wit and charm. He is truly 1 in 1,000 and I consider myself very fortunate to be residing so close.

this doctor has treated me for several conditions for 5 years. He spends the time necessary to get at the root of whatever is ailing you. I had thyroid trouble and was having trouble sleeping. I was referred to Dr. Sollazzo by somebody who knew him well. He said Sollazzo will get to the bottom of it. He was right. A great doctor and better man.

I have gone to so many docotors over the years and Dr. Sollazzo is by far the best! I no longer have to go to several doctors, he is board certified in almost everything!
