Dr. Robert Teodor Wechsler, MD

I recently became a patient of Dr. Wechsler, first through an Emergency Room visit of mine. I have been to his office twice, visited with his P.A. both times. She is knowlegeable, professional and very personable, caring and compassionate. She is very thorough and compassionate, my wife and I were favorably impressed. James Parker p.s. And she's pretty too.

I've had epilepsy for 20 years and seen numerous doctors. My ex husband was in the Navy and it was during that time that I was diagnosed. Dr. Wechsler is the second epileptologist I've seen and he is the best! He explained why my seizures returned 3 yrs after brain surgery. While he's gone quite a bit teaching neurologists about epilepsy and working on new drugs, his PA is very knowledgeable and quick to help. Both her and his nurse have epilepsy so they understand the day to day life of living with this horrible disorder. The staff is like part of my family. The Treasure Valley is lucky to have him! He's had tons of offers and he's still here. If you or someone you know struggles with epilepsy you need to get them into see him.

First visit, the Dr. was a salesman, went back for a second visit, and never again. THIS Dr. needs to be run out of town, I have partical seizures and the first med, he wanted to give me was VIMPAT, when I told him the cost$624.00) , his remark was..well do you want seizures? I was having problems with this medication and was put on one that was known to be part of the allergy family. I could have died. I questioned him after the pharmacy caught the drug and his remark was..we have tried everything else. WHICH WAS NOT TRUE..I been only on Keppra. I found another Dr, right away and she is wonderful, put me a drug for sezures that has been on the market for years and has a proven record, Gabapebtin. Dr. Wechsler perscribes, high of doses of medication and doesn't seem to care if it is hard to adjust.

Dr. Wechsler and his staff are the best I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I was diagnosed with epilepsy as a young mother of three daughters. While I had learned a lot about my health prior to becoming his patient, I have learned more and owe it all to Dr. Wechsler and his staff.

I LOVE Dr. Wechsler and his staff! He is very easy to understand and get along with and takes his time with you at EVERY appointment. His staff are all very courteous when dealing with me and very helpful. They can easily answer any question I have and are prompt. Appointments aren't always easy to get into, but Dr. Wechsler never rushes and takes his time so I will forever be a patient!

Think twice before you see this Dr. First visit was okay, it you have any issues with medication. His PA handles 90% of it. I found this group to be unprofessional and order medication that a person clearly can't take. The Dr. attitude is bad and he isn't as caring as his first visit, and becomes easy aggitated if challenged to understand what is being told. DONOT go this Dr. Keep searching

I tried to make an appointment after getting a referal from my neurologist. The woman that answered the phone treated me like I was inconveniencing her with my phone call & only became slightly nicer after checking what my insurance coverage was. Three weeks before my appointment my husband was laid off of his job due to cut backs, so I tried to contact the office to see if there were any cancellations so I could get in before our good insurance plan ran out. I called around 1:30 p.m. and the voicemail message said that if you call before 4:30 you will get a same day call back. I tried calling back after not hearing from them for three days, still no answer. A week after my initial call, my husband called the office & was able to get through. The woman on the phone was short with him & said that I had not left them a message & that I should try again once we get our insurance situation figured out. No thank you. I have never worked with a Dr that has a more unfriendly and… unhelpful staff. I never did see Dr Wechsler in person, but if his staff is a reflection of him, as I consider it to be, then I'm glad I didn't waste my time or money on seeing a Dr that doesn't care about his patients. I'm now working with a Dr out of state because I'd rather spend the extra money on airfare than try to get into this office.

I have finally found a Dr. who is a one of the best I have been treated by. He is knowledgeable, he explains in detail what is happening with the brain and planned treatment. Takes the fear out of the the unknown. Explains medication and a treatmen plan, he is with you all the way. His goal is to make sure we all live the best quality of life. He and his staff are wonderful. I would highly recommend Dr. Welchsler.

I called to make an appt. did get one, I made it 3 months in advance. It took 4 call backs to get the New Patient packet. (I have to have assistance to fill out said paperwk.) Seen the Dr, I had problems with the medication,all the sside effects were listed on the drug web site, with elevated BP. told to go to my GP, MY GP said it was the medication, told by dr Wechsler office it wasn't. I know discontinued meds. went to another Dr. in the area and found a helpful knowledgeable staff, Found the correct meds and RECEIVED call backs and did not wait from Monday to Thursday to tell me to call a GP. DO-NOT GO TO THIS DR.

Great doctor and wonderful, friendly VERY helpful staff!!! I would recommend him to friends, family AND enemies, ANYONE who needed a neurologist!!!
