Dr. Robyn Frances James, MD

If I could give Dr. Robyn James a ZERO for my most recent visit with her, I would. One star is much too kind. During my extremely brief visit with her, she was dismissive and flippant in her responses to my questions. When I asked her why she thought I was experiencing inflammation, she flippantly replied “just like you have long legs, you have inflammation”. What kind of response is that for a physician??? She never asked me about my diet, any supplements I may have been taking, medications, she never suggested that I do any lab work, just said “you have to get rid of the inflammation”. One would think that she would offer information regarding foods or supplements or something to help address this condition. She did not. Instead, she merely recommended a product that I have used before which did not appear to work when I used it previously. She said take this product, do nothing else, and I will see you in 3 months. She didn’t answer my questions and seemed poised to leave the room… the moment she entered the room. After waiting for 4 months for an appointment, the main thing I came for was shoved off to my follow up appointment in 3 months. I do not feel I can trust her recommendations as she gave no explanation, she showed no empathy, and she gave a really stupid response to an intelligent question. I cannot fathom ever going to Dr. James again. I do not trust her nor her lackluster recommendation. I have received more information from the store clerk at Whole Foods than I did from this so called “medical professional”. I came to her because I thought she may be able to provide sound medical advice. With all of the things she could have suggested, she came up with a catch all ointment that is used for any and everything and failed to provide any other suggestions or insight. I hope that no one else is ever brushed off by this physician the way that I was. This was the worst physician appointment I have ever experienced.

I have been going to Dr. James for approximately four years. I went to several other dermatologist but when I found her my problem was solved. I have had a consistent problem with my scalp being extremely dry, Dr. James prescribed me a special shampoo and it was the answer to my problem. She is very personable, knowledgeable and a kind person and that means a lot to me.

Waited over an hour, and not a thorough exam. My time is valuable too.

Dr. James is an excellent dermatologist! She is very caring, always concerned about her patients. Highly recommend her! Love and her staff!

I have been a patient for 15 years, I found Dr. James very caring, and genuinely concerned about providing quality care. All diagnoses to date were accurate and treated to cure. I highly recommend Dr. James for all family dermatologist needs.

I recommend Dr. James to anyone who has ever had skin problems including skin cancer. She is an expert in her field and her diagnosis and treatments are always on point. She trains constantly and keeps up with the latest technology and treatments.With no exaggeration, she is one of the nicest doctors that I have ever known, and I have seen them all. Her caring and empathic attention to her patients is something to behold; she literally feels your pain. She diagnoses and then treats with all dispatch. She will treat and correct your problem with the best professionlism that I have seen in a long time. Once she has treated you, you'll never look for another dermatologist,again. I've seen them all and in my opinion she is without question, the best in the Washington Metropolitan Area. A "10" in every respect.

Dr. James is an excellent phycian. her ability to explain things to her patients is wonderful. She spends as much time as needed. The wait time and front desk staff leave a bit to be desired.
