Dr. Russell Glen Postier, MD

Dr Postier was my surgeon 12 years ago when I had necrotizing pancreatitis. I was at a different hospital due to the sudden onset of my disease. He got me to OU and saved my life. It is rare to survive my illness and give everything to Dr Postier. He was always friendly, helpful, and supportive but most importantly he saved my life.

Dr. Postier is Chief of Surgery at OU Medical Center. He and his team completed a whipple procedure in Feb. 2007 on me for Pancreatic Cancer. He is a fabulous MD and has great empathy for his patients. I cannot say enough about what a great person and MD he is. Fabulous. He, in conjunction with the great Oncology Team at OU Med Center saved my life.

I came to know Dr. Postier when I needed a doctor during my years in college at OUHSC college of medicine as a medical student. I was struck by his amazing expertise without being arrogant, this is what I have come to know, the greater a person is at what they do, the more humble they are. I hope I have learned that in my own career, I myself, am now a physician and surgeon, and I will always be grateful to Dr. Postier as well as Dr. G Rainey Willams, for the examples they were to me, I even wore bright orange clogs during my residency on the east coast to remind me of what a great doctor Dr. Postier was. This was the color Dr. Postier wore. Thanks again. I will also always hold G Rainey Williams in my heart as a great mentor and teacher, what a great man he was also.
