Dr. Chen is our hero!!!! He is WONDERFUL!!!

I agree that waits are long in his office. But, actually, that is a plus in many ways. He is extremely well trusted by his colleagues. In fact, I know that, as a doctor, I spread my referrals around; however, when it comes down to FAMILY and FRIENDS, he is absolutely the one to see (and that is where I insist they go).

I know that the wait is long, but should be expected when a doctor is very good at what he does. He IS always in a hurry, but then again, he has a huge number of patients and is always running behind. He is very nice when not hurried. He is very good at making a diagnosis and acting quickly on it. I had macular surgery and it was smooth and not too difficult thanks to Dr. Chen. Personally, I would rather have a competent doctor than one who spends time patting my hand. If you need petting, he is probably not your guy.....

Arrogant attitude. Do not take time to address patient's issues and problem. Spent more time on internet than on patients. Expedite diagnosis throughout, sloppy and inaccurate (no surgery instead surgery required) No concern about patient's goodwill and well being. Overall impression with this Doc. was--he is by no mean is a compassionate, caring health professional.

Came in on an emergency basis, had to wait 2.75 hours to see him, and he did the exact exam that previous doctor did right before I was referred to this doctor. He told me nothing was wrong, and yes I had some big floaters. Yet his charges were way over my other doctors. Yes, there are not that many retina specialists in the area, but when a person has an emergency who is referred from another opthamologist, an almost 3 hour wait is ridiculous. Also, he told me nothing out of the ordinary and told my other doctor the real truth. Why was he hiding the truth from me, was this a way to put me at ease? Again, he did all the same exam as the doctor who referred me, and charged a higher price. Go figure.

They guy really know his stuff, very skilled and got the four tears in my retina with the freezing which was nasty but the injections in the eye, although a little pinchy were not bad due to the the numing techniques. He takes great care to make sure everything is done properly.

Staffs were very courteous & helpful, but Dr Chen was not thorough with patient. Did not take his time to explain the problem, what needs to be done, what is being done, what follows, outcomes, etc. When questions were addressed, he kept on walking out of office as he was talking. Overall, NOT a pleasant office visit!

I had seen several other retina specialists who "couldn't help" me. Dr. Chen evaluated me, ran some tests, and came up with a diagnosis. He treated/operated on me and I am now a NEW person. I am sooooo grateful to him.
