Specialties

Dr. Scott D Cooper has the following 2 specialties

  • Neurology

A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.

  • Psychiatry

A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.

Knowledgeable physician

Dr. Cooper treated my mother for many years. She had a Parkinson's. Dr. Cooper was kind and very cring. Wonderful bedside manners. Other neurologist had misdiagnosed. We will always be grateful for the care given by Dr. Cooper. He treats my husband now and we are equally pleased.

Best Doctor I have ever been to

Dr. Cooper diagnosed me correctly. I have been misdiagnosed by other doctors in the past, given the wrong treatment and suffered pain needlessly. Dr. Cooper listened to me! He actually took my symptoms seriously. Thank you so much Dr. Cooper. Finally I feel like being active.

Great Doctor!

The staff was very attentive, my wait time was so short I didn't have time to finish my paperwork, and Dr. Cooper was the best. He took time, listened to my concerns, explained my condition, and was genuinely concerned for my well-being.

Condescending, Rude, and Most Unprofessional

Dr. Cooper is rude, unprofessional and the worst Neurologist in the state. He is a joke. His office staff lies, canceling appointments that they made and gives no apology for their mistake. Dr. Cooper totally violated HIPPA by shouting personal (and false) information about their patient into the waiting room. He changed up my mother's meds then refused to help with adverse side effects occurred putting her in the hospital. Accused her of making up stuff when it was he and his staff that told her different things then denied it. TERRIBLE!
