Dr.Picker is the most wonderful Dr. as well as a man that i have ever seen. When my daughter was dieing he was not needed because she was long past his help, but i asked him if he would take care of her anyway because I knew i could trust him to tell me the truth and he would see she had what ever she needed. NOW REMEMBER HE DIDN'T HAVE TO DO THIS, but he did. He was there every day for 6 weeks. He has also done my back surgery. Never in my life have i met a man with such compassion, at Christmas he sits and cries with me about my daughter and says I will never forget your Angel (that was my daughter's name). He has also told me that when he treats u, you r now part of his family. I like the fact that he takes care of u and not o bunch of nurses, they don't over book, he may have an emergency sometimes but thats ok. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS IF ALL DR.'S WERE LIKE DR.PICKER WOW WOW WE WOULD B SO VERY BLESSED. Right night im on the panic side for the day he does retire completely.… cry cry i just love my Dr.Picker so much. GOD B WITH HIM AND KEEP HIM SAFE AND CONTINUE TO GRANT HIM HIS WONDERFUL GIFT AMEN

Dr. Picker is courteous, understanding, patient & knows his work in neurosurgery that iclude spinal cord injuries & brain inuries or abnormality. I have been going to Dr. Picker since 1998 & I have not once been disappointed in him or his wonderful staff. I wish there were a way to submit this team for an award for their ability to make me feel at ease with my diseases. They are simply awesome.

Dr. Picker performed a skull decompression to slow the progression of nerve damage that I was facing by being born with a Chiari Malformation that created Syringomyelia. Recently, my car was rear-ended by an unattentive driver that caused me immediate headaches that I attributed to being hit near my decompression on the back of my head by the headrest. Dr. Picker was out of the country, but was able to administer great medical assistance from South Africa via his superior work ethic & dedicated staff. After MRIs & MRAs, he discovered 3 aneurysms on the main brain artery that could strike me at any moment. He referred me to another great doctor at Barnes to get these taken care of. Thank you Dr. Selwyn Picker, Mary & Debbie. You are the best group of medical staff I know!!

Dr.Picker is very generous with the time he spends with patients and he really gets to know them as people. His assistant, Mary, is always accessible and friendly. Dr. Picker is the best physician I've ever seen!

Dr. Selwyn Picker at St Johns Medical Center operated on my brain to relieve me from further damage to my nerves due to two life long diseases, Arnold-Chiari & Syringomyelia. I have seen others with one or both of these diseases become severely disabled from similar surgeries performed by other doctors. Dr. Picker is a gem! He gave me the confidence to live with these diseases by performing surgery correct the first time. I am not in a wheelchair and I can turn my head and, with care, lift my grandchildren.
