Dr. Shaun Jackson is board certified in both Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. He completed his undergraduate training Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Biophysics. He earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport and completed his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Following this, he fulfilled post-doctorate training with a Fellowship in Pain Medicine at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Dr. Jackson is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Pain Society, and Texas Medical Association.

In treating individuals with syndromes of pain, Dr. Jackson believes in a holistic approach, focusing on musculoskeletal reorganization - stabilization through physical/occupation therapy and other modalities, patient education, constructive …psychosocial reinforcement, and positive lifestyle modifications.

He has several interests including musculoskeletal medicine, cancer pain, electrodiagnostic medicine, vertebral augmentation, and spinal neuromodulation. Dr. Jackson is married and has two children. He enjoys spending time with his family. Additionally, he is a musician and has interests in multiple sports.

I am a patient of Dr. Jackson and have been for over six months. I have never had a bad experience at his office and haven been very satisfied my treatments.I have always found his staff to be professional and helpful. I feel confident to recommend his practice to anyone needing Pain Management.

Upon trying to set up back injections for my pain, I was put aside and told their office was awaiting feedback from my insurance, Aetna. I called several times to no avail and no updates. Finally, I called and was told magically that news from Aetna was JUST received and I was denied coverage for the second time. I was asked to come in AGAIN for consultation; however, the last time I did this, I drove 21/2 hours to wait in the waiting room for 3 hours and then received a 2-3 minute apology. SHEESH !

I’ve been a patient of Dr Jackson for 6 years! I love his treatment plans starting with PT, injections and lifestyle recommendations. I like that he is conservative when it comes to medication. He has excellent bedside manners and he smiles!!!! Great staff always friendly despite such a demanding job. People are in pain!!! They are grouchy, upset, depressed. However, Dr Jackson and staff are considerate and listen.

I am a brand new patient with Dr. Shaun Jackson, and found him easy to talk to and caring, with great empathy. My regular physician is retiring and I am having to start all over again, which I dreaded. He and his nurse took the time to listen and make me feel comfortable and for that I am so thankful. I left his office with a plan and some hope. I only wish more doctors were so helpful!

I've been seeing Dr Jackson for over 5 years. He is awesome! Love his bedside manner and takes time to listen. I would highly recommend Dr. j to everyone in pain.

I've been a patient of Dr. Jackson for several years and his professional treatment and advice has kept me pain free to this day and I have a very demanding job. His nurse and staff are absolutely amazing and if he were a general family practitioner - I'd change in a heartbeat. If you are seeking a specialist who is extremely professional, has your best interest at heart, and amazing bedside manner, see Dr. Jackson.

I was very impressed with Dr. Jackson and his office staff. He was very friendly and new of my background before he came in to see me. I would recommend him to others.

Unfortunately I walked away from my appointment with Dr. Jackson feeling depleted. I am in miserable pain and considering surgery and I felt I left with no positive choices. I felt like there was a lack of listening and empathy. When you are in pain you need empathy and listening in order to feel validated and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately after this appointment I left crying and knowing there has to be more options.
