Dr. Steven M Lovitt, MD

We were so happy that we found Dr. Steven Lovitt! We were so impressed! Not only did he diagnose my husband’s rare Huntington’s Disease, that two other neurologists failed to do, but he showed genuine caring and compassion. On our first visit he told us that he was ordering a new round of tests and we’d meet with him again later for a follow-up. We had been through so many tests previously that I felt a little discouraged. As he was about to walk out of the room, he saw the look on my face, stopped, stepped back in the room and asked me what was wrong. I expressed my discouragement, and he explained his reasoning for the new round of tests. We left feeling relieved and when we came back for the follow-up, he had the diagnosis. When he then referred us to the Huntington’s Center for Excellence, he reassured us by telling us that if his brother had the disease, this is where he would send him. Dr. Lovitt is extremely knowledgeable and cares!

We were desperate to find a neurologist to see my husband sooner than 6 months away and Dr. Lovitts office said yes. They made an appt 3 days after our initial call over their lunch break. He didn’t rush the evaluation, was very clear in explaining his findings, and is helping us start this long journey. I couldn’t be more grateful!

Dr Lovitt has a natural ability to communicate well explaining complicated medical things in simple terms. He’s kind and genuinely wants to spend time with the patient. He took care of my husband in a medical emergency snd I don’t think any other doctor could have done a better job.

Numerous other doctors were not able to help me and Dr. Lovitt did. He pin-pointed my problem with details I understood and put me on a pathway to resolution. I am happy beyond measure and very grateful to Dr. Steven Lovitt.

Very thourough and cares

When I went to DR. Lovitt Iwas very anxious,but he was so kind and patient that I felt better right away. He is the best in his field and he explained in a way that was easy to understand .

Wonderful Doctor. Saved my life.

At first, the Doctor seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. He made me feel so comfortable with his great sense of humor while I was undergoing some very painful testing. In the end tho he had ZERO interest in digging deeper into what was causing was causing my problems. The WORST PART EVER was that his office lost my biopsy tissue! I literally spent months and countless phone calls trying to investigate what happened to the tissue. This is apparently something that happens often because after talking to the same person multiple times, when I called to speak to her once again, she had no idea who I was and ask "Which one are you?". They were NOT sympathetic or apologetic about losing my biopsy tissue. The office manager actually was very defensive and yelled at me! I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place! I regret ever going there!

Not Good, never got a chance to see physician, traffic accident, no option to call office until 9 a.m. or even leave a message. Once I arrived 10 min late the front desk replied, I will see if he can see you. I informed her I called @ 7:30 and there was no option to notify anyone or leave a message and had I known I would not have continued to drive in, and pay to park only to be told I could not be seen. She replied, yes, because the switchboard does not open for calls until 9 a.m. The front desk replied " The Physician said called back at 9:00 a.m. and reschedule." My husband reminded me this was the same office that forgot his appt and ruldly stated we had to wait till 9 am. to schedule even though we had the appt in hand with a name. Once he was seen we received prescriptions for medication and another appt. We canceled 3 days in advance and got a name but received a bill for no call and no show as if we never called. Not a pleasant experience either time and I would not… recommend. When you have severe headache pain, you don't need to have it aggravated by poor customer service and pitiful inconsiderate bedside manner.

He is impressive! He get's to the point quickly and efficiently and shows his car and concern for me the patient.
