Dr. Steven D. Rauch

A recent new patient here: Dr Rauch reviewed my hearing test results, gave me a quick ear exam and diagnosed me with some mild to moderate conductive hearing loss. Yes, he was quick and maybe even a tad dismissive of a few of my non medical opinions as to what else I felt was going on that might be causing some additional ear symptoms, but I was OK with that because I immediately understood he knew it wasn’t what I was guessing at and didn’t have time to waste discussing what he knew was not the case. He’s the trained doctor, not me, so it’s important to understand that sometimes abruptness from very good Drs is the result of necessity to keep their patients from dragging on an appointment unnecessarily with their non medical assessment based on the information they gathered on the internet. Dr Rauch is the specialist with years of experience and a very trained eye and understanding of hearing and balance disorders, so I stand by my opinion that his abruptness was a reassuring thing;… that my case wasn’t in need of more of his time. I have no doubt he spends far more time with patients who have far more serious situations.

I saw Steven Rauch for a rare balance condition that has completely changed my life. He diagnosed me with migraines because I had sunglasses on..No tests beyond that. He gave me literature and a book and told me to come back to see him in 2 months. I went back and he said I’m not a dizzy doctor and that I need to realize that there is no cure for what I have. I AM FULLY AWARE OF THAT! I literally asked him at the appointment why he was being so combative with me. I need help with my symptoms. He wanted me in and out. I will not be going back to him and have searching for a new doctor.

Dr. Rauch is outstanding! He is a wonderful diagnostician and very compassionate person.

I spent 6 months prior in this horrific state before seeing Dr. Rauch. He spent 5 minutes with me and claimed it to be Migraine. He told me not to search for other doctors and let it be. Pat THING more they can do for me. Now my whole side of my face is drooping, I am unemployable and in tremendous pain. I do all my own research because NO DOCTOR is helping me. I believe I have acoustic neuroma and they list Mass Eye and Ear as a treatment center for this. I don't think so!!!!! Best Doctors in Boston, I don't believe this at all. Lastly, no bedside manner for Rauch. Rush rush and forget about telling him your symptoms!!!!!!! The worst!!! Causing me to suffer another 6 months and research myself. PEOPLE I AM NOT A DOCTOR!!! I should have got that darn medical licence.

Dr. Rauch was unprepared for our appointment. He did not realize I had been seeing him on several occasions over the prior two years. He was rude.He was dismissive of every question I asked. As follow-up he gave me the name of website that I should look at and two books to read. I did not feel like he listened to me or cared about what I said.

I have been bragging about this procedure--and Dr. Rauch, for more than a decade now.

I went to this MD with a balance and nausea issue. I had heard about something called menieres and asked about it. he got very angry and actually asked me where I got my MD degree. RUDE and nasty encounter. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Definitely comes off with a God complex, thinks he is smarter than other doctors. Arrogance oozes off of him. No intention on ever returning to his office since he was ok with me going deaf and risking the loss hearing of my only good ear. Would never recommend.

his resident spent most time with me. Dr. Rauch was a bit sarcastic and and cavalier and curt - I had traveled from quite a distance to see him so this was not appreciative.

gave me hearing after being told my only option was a hearing aid. surgery went smoothly. much quicker recovery than antisipatated.
