Dr. Susan Grinstead Milliken, DO

Rude, condescending, belittlilng, even cruel. Zero compassion. Obsessed with weight. I am a size 12 and she called me obese. Very insensitive and sarcastic when I mentioned being stressed because our two adult children who have mental health issues lived with us for two periods this year. Her reply? "Well you should just move." Real nice! Self-righteous, just god awful. Why isn''t there a zero star option? Also, someone she doesn't inspire trust in her medicine.

She needs to give her white coat up! she's as fake as you see them! never in my life have I seen an MD act the way she did to me I was humiliated and disrespected by her, she made me feel as if I stole from her , she act as if I was attacking her . She suppose to be a "Family Practice" DO she is clearly in the wrong field . This Is my first review in my life . I couldn't sleep and replayed how she treated me that morning ! I was sent by my Agency to work for Milton Landing BIDMC !!! From the first Day IT WAS UNPROFESSIONAL! THE manager signed me and left!!! This incident is all because that one staff made up a complaint about me ,to my understanding at the end of each shift you're to throw the urine specimen AWAY! Prior to this , the MA that was there to HELP ME document" said I was all-set because all day she check my documentation and made sure everything was properly in before she left 15 min before me, BEFORE SHE LEFT both MAs, suggested that I needed to speak to… Dr Milliken the next day "that she needed to put the orders in time "for the pts because they were being put in after the pt leaves!! That day my shift ended , specimen was dipped , Dr Milliken closed her chart on that particular pt. there was NO ORDERS MADE!!!!!! specimen was still in the lab . I cleaned my rooms, checked in the lab the blood was still spinning , put my bag on top of the counter , I noticed I did not throw the urine specimen away , I threw it out rinsed it and put it in the hazard trash !!! I was ready to leave ,waiting on the lab , I went to use the rest room came out she the MA said the lab was done she put in outside already!! The MA calls me over ( that also helped me that day)!! MA SAID she noticed there was a trace of blood in the urine, she said she took the urine cup out the trash that i had already rinsed thrown out and dipped it ???? (I washed the urine cup out already ?) as if I was not already feeling bad I threw a pts urine out after she spoke so kindly to me about it ! she made a comment about there was blood in the urine and she dipped it? how you dipped the urine when it was already dipped and you took it from the trash only to say you dipped after I rinsed the cup n trashed it?? I asked can we call the pt back and and we can send it out ? she said Dr Milliken is big on urines! which if she is why didnt you put the order in after you close your chart? I was highly agitated and felt like crap cause the urine was thrown out but I knew I can call the pt myself the next day and asked Dr Milliken to put an order in just to make sure it was sent or we can have them go to the Hospital lab. This wasn't the first mistake she made that week ,,,shhhh After MA spoke to me I grabbed my bag said Good Night and Thank You to the Admin and her ! what happens after to my knowledge is unknown! The next morning .... As I approached the building ,Dr Milliken stopped me waving at me and telling me to leave as if I was never there ,I was soooooo confused by her reactions that I needed answers , I was so upset , she then locked the office and telling me to " leave ,please leave "Instead of being a MD she became like an attack Dog , like I was a child she waving her hands at me to EXIT the Office , she said "YOU CANT ENTER THE BUILDING ,LEAVE " she was so wrong for this I couldn't NOT NOT WRITE A REVIEW! She listened to one person and not me as if I didn't matter(,whyll she kept making mistakes herself and talking about her patients and making it seemed as if I was wrong when I all I did was there to help her). It was a sad moment ,I was upset and demand answers I was crying in disbelief and so shocked !!! She then made a statement to me that " I NEVER ASKED FOR HELP"! I was in disbelief and couldn't stop crying and ask her "if she really said this to me" as she telling me to leave the building I called my Agency ! why'll still waiting on the phone for my Agency! still in disbelief by her reactions ,I know ,I asked her several time "if she NEEDS help or the way she likes to run her pts schedule , please tell me!!!" from the first DAY!! I wanted to make sure if she said that and asked again and again?? she stated that to me that "I never asked for help" THIS was understatement ! because I was in disbelief ! I kept asking "what happen"? why are you waving your hands at me and shooting me away ? I have witness not witnesses because clearly she only went by what another MA /Kathleen said ! then she went onto tell me that Kathleen said "That I STORMED out "! after speaking to me!!!WOW If i didnt ask for HELP why did the manager sent over 4 people within one week an a half of being there "to train " me in this office !!!! Pts would wait in the room and ask if the Dr Milliken is coming back in she rather tell me to go in and tell me they are all set which clearly they still needed answers to their care which I couldn't provide the answers !!!!!!! this was an uncall matter it would've help if she had calm the situation which she made matters worst ! as an MD I lost all type of respect for her , its a shame she had to come at me in the type of way she did . I wasn't a staff member but I would never be a pt ,know I WENT IN WITH ALL MY HARD WORK ! Been an MA for 18yrs Never had I imagine asking for help would go so rudely ! I love what I do and always asked for help! I have text messages asking for help ! I take full blame of throwing a urine away , but to my understanding it was the end of my shift and and for Kathleen what ever it was that you needed to be said I hope YOUR HEART & SOUL is at rest because there was no need for your lies, you waited until I left to state to Dr Millken that I stormed out. Anyone that knows me KNOWS THAT im a HARD WORKER! you as well knew DR Milliken was making mistakes and told me to speak to her on her orders before closing her

Rude, condescending, belittling. Does not value or even pretend to care about patient input or concerns. Went in with concerns re: thyroid levels and she was more concerned with my birth mark on my left shoulder, insisting it was a sunspot even tho repeatedly told her I’ve had it since birth. Weird interactions.

This was my first and only visit with add. Milliken. I went for annual physical and to meet her. She did all of the talking, was very quick to write prescriptions for things I didn’t ask for. For example. My bra strap had dug info back and she lectured me on preventing rashes and how they will turn fungal. I told her it was just a line from where my bra strap was and she completely ignored comment. She also made so many (false) assumptions about my life and lifestyle without asking me. “You should be on birth control and use condoms to prevent unwanted babies and diseases from having so many partners.” How does she know I don’t want to get pregnant or that I have multiple. Let alone any sexual partners. I’m sure she’s great for some patients. But she definitely rubbed me the wrong way and I will absolutely never go back.

I found this individual to be a judgemental, sanctimonious snob that makes her whole staff uptight and patients feel bad about themselves. She actually had the audacity to predict with her certainty of how and when I was going to die. I would not even go back for a free annual physical. I mentioned that I occasionally take a puff of my partners cigarette at social functions (somehow I never got hooked). After telling me smoking is unhealthy, she actually had the gall to bill my insurance for a "smoking cessation program". Very unpleasant, and I would guess privately miserable woman.

Dr. Milliken is a very caring patient centered doctor. I am her patient and a nurse. She gives exceptional care, is prompt to answer questions or requests and follows up personally. I feel very confident in her care.

I like that she can make me laugh when I am not feeling well at all. I don't like it when I'm very sick and she is curt with me and makes me feel like I'm wrong. A while ago, a nurse said I had a treatable infection and that we caught it before it manifested; Dr. Milliken said she was not convinced and was reluctant to give me a prescription. She did give it to me but with reservation. It turned out the nurse was correct. The symptoms manifested and I was able to begin taking the medication. Recently I was injured and she was stern with me over the phone when I asked for a referral and I had requested a note to be excused from work. I had seen her three days ago and the symptoms were presistent and I didn't feel up for going into the doctors office that day. I am a professional and I love my job. I would not ask for this unless necessary. She said she would not write a note. She would only write a note if I came into her office and for that day. I am finding another avenue… to treat this injury. Overall, I have been her patient for 15 years. My experience with her has steadily declined. I guess she's not the best doctor for me anymore. When I'm healthy, for routine exams, she's the best. When I'm sick, she's not sympathic.
