Dr. Theresa Ann Bergherr, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Bergherr M.D. since 1996 at the VA hospitals mentioned except for a short period of time when she went into private practice. Doctor Burgherr not only treated my severe PTSD that I suffer from combat in Vietnam but also a myriad of other problems. She knows when to be kind and she knows when to put her foot down. There is no bull about her, she tells you like it is. This is the kind of doctor that I appreciated. Also if you think for one minute that you are going to bull her into give you drugs or benzos you are in for a huge surprise. She has seen every phoney out there so don't waste her or your time. But if you do want to get better and want to listen to her she is the one to take care of you. She loves each patient as if you are her family. I love Dr. Bergherr as my doctor and trust her with my life and my families life.

Dr. Bergherr is an outstanding physician! She genuinely cares about her clients. Dr.Bergherr promotes an environment where a trusting therapeutic relationship can be established and healing can begin. I am thankful to have found her.

Dr.Bergherr possesses a keen understanding of human behavior. She has both the ability to lend an ear, and councel on self understanding.

Dr. Bergherr is the kind of caring, flexible, insightful, strong, authentic person I wish all psychiatrists had the courage to be. She's also been tremendously generous regarding scheduling.

She is wonderful.

Dr. Bergherr is an excellent physician, particularly because she doesn't take any crap from her patients. You can't B-S this woman, just what I need in a shrink.

When I went to see Dr. Bergherr, she failed to order routine lab work to check for thyroid and other matters to determine diagnosis. Although I complained of rapid heart beat, weight loss, sweatiness, and insomnia, she still didn't act. Several months later, I went on my own initiative to a cardiologist. It turned out I had severe thyroid disease and my levels were over 900! She told me she thought I was just losing weight, and had no rational explanation for her failure to act. She also blames patients for her mistakes, it seems. She stopped seeing me, and didn't provide me with a referral, as she is supposed to, and this occurred at a time when I had become the victim of crime. She doesn't really do a good job creating trust in her patients, and doesn't pay attention or abide by the rules of her profession. I would advise anyone to avoid seeing her for treatment.
