Dr. Theresa Nevarez, MD

Been a diabetic for 30+ years. Seen this woman at the Family Medical Clinic under Harbor-UCLA facility due to not being insured at the time-- now I am so now going to much better doctor/endo. Nevarez is NOT even an endocrinologist! I was going to her for 3 years and she would say these insane things like "your blood sugar is lower than mine..." What- comparing a NON DIABETIC with a DIABETIC???!!! How uneducated is THAT?! Any diabetic knows (so you would assume a doctor would...) that if you are FEELING the symptoms of insulin shock-- confused, feeling like you are drunk, can't formulate words or thoughts... YOU ARE GOING INTO INSULIN SHOCK. the blood glucose meter is about ONE TO TWO HOURS BEHIND what you are currently going thru... she checked by BG to be 101 and saying "it is lower than mine"-- UH SO WHAT LADY!!! but then checked one hour later it was 41!!! And I was passed out on the floor/waiting room. She was trying to say-- out it is 101 and you are fine.. whatever you are… feeling I am going to ignore-- you know nothing eventhough you have diabetes since you were 4 years old.. can't give you any juice or carbs to help you... YES-- my blood glucose was LOWER than HERS-- a diabetic's pancreas does NOT BALANCE OUT HIGHS OR LOWS that is why we INJECT INSULIN multiple times a day. a NON DIABETIC DOES NOT-- if a non-diabetic goes "low" then their pancreas and liver kick in to BALANCE IT AN MODERATE it.. a Type 1 Diabetic has a NON FUNCTIONING pancreas-- NO BALANCE IS DONE AUTOMATICALLY-- it must be done MANUALLY by the diseased person! If they can't do it-- THEY NEED THE DOCTOR TO DO SO! This woman is so incompetent-- I would bring her in articles from Diabetes Health magazine all the time presenting contradictions to her "old wives' tales" ideas... this woman is unprofessional, uneducated, and incompetent-- and she has a moustache;-) But if she can't take care of herself... how do you expect her to take care of you???
