Dr. Thomas Briggs Francis, MD

Dr. Francis has treated me for complex and serious illnesses over 8-years. His ability to accurately diagnose, effectively treat and provide on-going care is exemplary. Not only an amazing clinician but a caring human being. A rare combination these days. I was on a roller coaster of numerous docs and specialists who failed to diagnose my rapidly deteriorating health. Dr. Francis took one look at me on my first appointment and knew exactly what I was suffering from. He also discovered additional illnesses that were NOT Endocrine disorders and successfully treated those as well. Without his dedication to my overall health concerns and extensive expertise in numerous areas, I simply cannot imagine what my life would look like today, (and, IF I would be here at all...) All delivered with a healthy dose of humor.

Dr. Francis is very thorough and compassionate takes his time to explain things so you can understand. Office staff is awesome and appointments are easy to obtain, wait time is minimum.

Dr. Francis never got back to me about my lab results or to schedule the ultrasound he said I needed. No news is good news, right? When I called his office a few months later to be sure, no one got back to me. I called again a few months later only to be told I had an autoimmune disease. I tried to schedule an appointment for several days by office phone, direct line and email, but he did not get back to me. It's unconscionable that a doctor would fail a patient so completely.

I wish my review could be 4 stars. Based on other reports, I truly had high hopes Dr. Francis would treat me with dignity since I've been sick for so long. He is indeed very thorough but he is abrupt and rude. He took two months to get my follow up report to me and my general physician. He's a bit of a loose cannon. He totally blew me off despite my severe symptoms. I'm left incredibly disappointed. I will not visit his office again.

After going from Dr to Dr to Dr etc. lol. I was referred to Dr Francis, Thomas by another Dr who is a friend. I can not tell you what a relieve it has been to have a Dr that will listen to you, not brush me off or some of my health problems, the way others have done. He is easy to talk to, is not condensending in anyway. He is also, very thorough. I would definitely recommend him to a friend or anyone else in need.

I wish all patients who needed an endocrinologist knew of Dr. Francis!! He is extremely thorough in his care, explains what is going on in the body and what procedures are options, and is a pleasure to work with. I have been under his care for about five years now and truly trust him as my doctor!!

Within 5 minutes Dr. Francis correctly diagnosed my disorder that had eluded at least 6 other physicians who I had sought out to help find a diagnosis. For 3-years I have been ill and unable to work yet no other physician took the time to properly evaluate my symptoms and lengthy medical history. I had lost hope,was depressed and felt powerless to get well despite the fact I worked in the medical field myself for many years. After one visit with the Doc, I know he truly cares about my quality of life and is committed to helping me manage this disease.... He is my Hero and has restored my faith in the medical field!

I would recommend Dr. Francis to anyone looking for an endocrinologist. He is very thourough and follow-up is excellent. He has been the absolute best doctor I have been to on this Island...
