Dr. Thomas Edward Sharon, MD

All of my honest reviews on other sites have been deleted. Dr. Sharon performed my Myomectomy about 7 years ago at Northside hospital. My first red flag was during our first appointment he rushed through the appointment. He had no interest in my past MRI, doctor notes findings or anything. He just said let's get you scheduled. After waking up from surgery I was crying in horrible pain as well as hemorrhaging. I literally felt my incision. I felt like I awoke on the operating table. I was begging for help. My wonderful recovery nurse informed me they were trying to reach Dr Sharon. The nurse stayed by my side and told me she can not send me to my room because I will bleed to death. Nobody was able to find my doctor after he had just cut me and left. I was knocked out with something and woke up in my room. I was in so much pain and had to receive blood from loosing so much. I did not know I needed blood until I almost fainted trying to get up and go to the bathroom. I still did not see… Dr Sharon. I was crying to my nurse telling her something is wrong I can feel it. She told me in a angry tone Dr Sharon is at the lake house with his family.... I received a Ct scan and 16cm hematoma was found. I had another doctor I did not know making decisions for me. I was told I may have to go back into surgery but there is a risk of infection going back in so soon. My mom thankfully was there. My mom mentioned during my Myomectomy she seen Dr Sharon walking the halls. After my surgery I seen Dr Sharon 2-4-6 weeks later still bleeding still in pain. At the 6 week check up I asked to speak with the office manager, I had just received a ultrasound and they found multiple fibroids. I was shocked I had just had surgery Dr. Sharon said he took them all out. After 6 months still menstruating, Dr Sharon told me he thinks I am just having bad luck. I had a painful heavy period for a full year while trying to find a doctor to help and that was not afraid to go behind what Sharon did. I found an amazing doctor who helped me, I did have to get a hysterectomy and once the doctor opened me up there were over 22 fibroids my bowel had been moved. An amazing bowel doctor was called into to assist while I was having my hysterectomy. I mentally have not gotten over what Dr Sharon did to me. I pray others speak up. I did not deserve this, yet it was swept under the rug.. I had to enter 1 star in order to submit the rating. Otherwise I would not have put any at all.

Horrible experience under this Doctor’s care. I lost a lot of blood from the C-Section under him and I also had serious complications from the C-Section in which he did that was so bad that I ended up back in the hospital shortly after being released… I went to a local hospital in horrible pain and the local hospital confirmed Blood in my urine that was a pretty good amount and I was transferred back to the hospital where I had the C-Section under this doctors care. While I was in the hospital the first time he only checked on me once for less than 3 minutes. He wouldn’t come near my bed side he stayed near the TV area in a chair and I have to also state that this was during my first few days in the hospital!!! He didn’t care about how I was feeling or my concerns. Also upon being back in the hospital for the second time I wasn’t checked on By this doctor at all and I was told that he was in fact there because I asked another OBGYN that was there in the room checking on me was he aware… of what was happening with me and that I was back in the hospital and had been transferred and to my amazement that doctor actually told me with a serious look on his face that the OBGYN didn’t understand why I was even transferred back there!!! In which he did in fact that shook his head, in which I took that as a some people are just not good people and don’t care!!! I was thinking to myself what a joke!!! I honestly felt like I was just a number other than a patient!!! This Doctor didn’t have any care in the world to even see me for a check up at all!! My appointment’s would be set to see him and then I would get calls from that facility saying he couldn’t see me. EVERY TIME!!! Like what doctor doesn’t check on their patients after a C-Section? I wouldn’t recommend any woman going to him. I wouldn’t want you to go through the same thing I did!!! This was supposed to be one of the best days of my life and ended up in a nightmare!!! I hate that all this happened to me!!! Had I had known better before hand I honestly would have chosen another Doctor.

My wife and I went to see him for a post-op checkup for a &C following what was her second miscarriage in less than a year. While it was clear he knows what he's talking about, he was dismissive and condescending in regards to our concerns and questions. He also made my wife uncomfortable in how close he stood next to her, telling me after she felt like he was doing it to intimidate her into not asking questions about his prognosis. For reference, my wife is an RN and, while not specialized in prenatal care, understands and knows her way around medical terminology and issues. We both felt rushed and like our story wasn't important enough for him to sit through and listen.

I almost died during childbirth due to severe complications of pregnancy. Thank God Dr. Sharon didn’t deliver my baby. His ideas of doing rounds was laughing while I screamed in pain because he had never seen complications so severe. AVOID THIS A-HOLE.

When I was at my most vulnerable -I had a severe head congestion and could not breath immediately after giving birth- Dr. Sharon was the MD on call for my standard MD. He proceeded to yell at me, tell me I was over-reacting, and would not even come near the bed to examine me. That night I needed oxygen and my O2 levels were very low. I would not recommend him to any woman.

He has been my Doctor for 20 years now and I don't have any negatives to say. I have had 3 deliveries with him and all were handled beautifully! Kudos Dr. Sharon!

Dr Sharon delivered my first baby and now I'm back to see him pregnant with our second. Dr Sharon really listens to you and cares about your questions and concerns. He make you feel extremely comfortable and that's why we are back. His bedside manner is great. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Sharon works in a big practice and I only saw him 1 time during my pregnancy. It took a long time to get an appointment or get results from lab work. I picked him after a lot of research because I was dedicated to avoiding a c-section with my pregnancy and have fibroids. After a few months into my pregnancy, I ended up just seeing the midwives at the practice but even that was a cold experience. The office is so large you have to follow signs to get from lab work to the exam room and so on. And you have to pay for parking. All in all, I was not happy with this OB experience and in hindsight would have chosen someone else. I was able to stick with my birth plan and avoid intervention and for that I am thankful. Everyone at the practice is nice but it is just so big it is hard to have a homey experience. I did not like seeing a different doc every time. If you want to foster a real relationship with your provider, I wouldn't choose this practice.

I find it odd that I posted a negative review on another website and it has been taken down (twice). I am going to try posting on this website to see if I have a smiliar experience. This doctor works for a mega practice. There are 8 doctors and 4-5 midwives on staff so this practice is one of the largest I have ever seen. With a practice this large I find it odd that the only comments you will find about all of their doctors and midwives are glowing. One or two negative reviews may be found here and there, but with 12 individuals delivering babies in this practice, the odds of only glowing reviews are slim which should be a red flag for future mothers and one I wish I had picked up on. Use caution with this practice because my experience was anything but nice. Sharon was rushed and barely stepped foot in the room with my husband and I before he was gone. He was something like the 8th person from the practice I saw and appeared to care less about my concerns. This is a huge… practice so ladies do your research so you know just what that means.

On my first visit, he closely reviewed my medical history and asked good questions. Dr. Sharon listened to all my questions and concerns and answered each of them. He has a lot of knowledge and an excellent personality. It was refreshing having such a great experience and I highly recommend Dr. Sharon!
