Dr. Trent Michael Christensen, MD

Don't waste your time; they only care about money. He seems jaded and out of touch with what his patients are going through. Trent strung me along for over a year, pretending he was going to help me. I told him from the very 1st appt that I'm a complex case, and please don't take me on unless you are going to help me. He agreed. Fast forward 15 months, after physical therapy and expensive tests that I didn't need, I am back in his office wondering why there is no progress being made. He proceeds to tell me, "I don't communicate what I need." WHAT?! The 1st day I told you. As in, we specifically discussed what would need to be done to do the injections. He didn't take any accountability for his actions or why there was no trust left. To top it all off, he tried to get me to do injections that day. It's so ridiculous. Now that I'm upset and leaving your practice, you want to try to help me? I'm very glad I brought a family member as a witness and recorded my conversation. It sounds… like a weird thing to even have to do .. But after being mistrated by doctors for 25 years, I've learned ways to fight back.

am very disappointed at the how I was handled by this organization and the end results. I was referred to this clinic to address an issue I have been having with my elbow. The doctor I was initially referred to passed me off to another doctor resulting in needing to make another appointment. I am guessing that there wasn't enough money in it for him so pass me off to Dr. Trent Christensen. So I go to that appointment and without taking any xrays or MRI to actually diagnose my issue, I am told that I need either a PRP injection or a Tenex surgical procedure. The PRP injection is experimental where they take your plasma and inject it in the affected area. I was told it was 95% successful, however it is not covered under insurance and is $700.00. So off to another appointment to get this done. Once again, I ask if this is the right procedure for my scenario and was given the same song and dance of its success rate. Little was I told the extent of how excruciating the pain level would be.… OFF THE CHARTS!. With pain medicine in hand I went through well over a month of unbelievable pain and a black and blue arm only to be told that it takes a while for it to take effect and this was all normal. WOW! Guess it would have been nice to have known this up front. It never did get better and was a waste of my money, time and unneeded pain. Once again I reached out to Dr. Christensen's office and made another appointment. Now they finally take a simple Xray and decide to give me an injection and send me on my way. I got minimal relief for a couple of days but it came right back after normal use. Back to Dr. Christensen's office again where now they want to perform the Tenex surgical procedure but I have to go get a physical as well as jump through the COVID testing hoops. Now the bills start coming in for all the visits that have been nothing more than a joke because insurance only covers so much and they are not cheap... When I finally get a second opinion I discover that Dr. Christensen has a degree in family medicine but DOES NOT have extensive education in Orthopedic Medicine. I was told by his superior that he had done a fellowship for a year. Is that like a MERIT BADGE for this? Are you kidding!? He is going to cut my arm open after repeated failed attempts and a lack of actually looking deeper into the problem. When I met with the current doctor that is now taking care of my arm did an MRI right off the bat and has given me direction that I failed to get from Dr. Christensen. I was told by my new doctor that is an actual Orthapedic doctor and someone who is highly educated in this field, that this would have been a procedure that would be a major step backwards and not needed or recommended. All this being said. I reached out to discuss the exorbitant billing that I have received and was contacted by Dr Christensen's superior. He was kind enough to reach out and speak with me about it but in the end did nothing in the way of a refund of consideration for the insubordination. Think of it like this. If you took your car to the dealership for the exact same problem over and over again and they failed to fix it, at what point would you feel you should get a refund and move on. My advice is to be cautious of the care from here.

Very unprofessional, lazy doctor. I was asked to walk down the hallway barefoot during this time of Covid-very unsanitary. I was given a steroid shot and told that normally he would give me 10 exercises to do, but that I would probably only do 5 , and when he came back, he had only 3 exercises. No one demonstrated how to do the exercises, and I found out later that all exercises required a band which I didn’t have and didn’t know I needed. The office was empty when we came in and when we left. We could see into the doctor computer area as we walked down the hall and a guy was sitting with his feet on the desk counter. I am so upset that I am changing primary doctors because they referred me to Dr. Christenson.
