This Dr. spent 5 minutes to berate my issue and tell me that I wasn’t able to be treated as I would not be a success. Suggested that I “see my buddy upstairs for a 2nd opinion” save yourself time, see a professional.

This Dr. is unprofessional and angry. He spends 5 minutes in exam. Nothing is explained, and I was made to feel my ailment was a non issue. Maybe being an over 55 patient made it too difficult to take the time to talk with me and offer help??? He told me to “see my buddy upstairs for a 2nd opinion”!!!

Knew immediately what my problem was & did the surgery. Very pleased with his expertise.

Five months of pain from a surgery from this man and finally got a second opinion. Have to redo the surgery, and start over. Hopefully some one getting a surgery will read this and go to a competent surgeon.

Dr. Gause has done five surgeries for me and one for my husband. He is an incredible orthopedic surgeon, and we have been blessed by his expertise and kind bedside manner. In addition, we have referred many of our friends and family to Dr. Gause and they too have been extremely grateful for his services.

I was a patient of this doctor and am very unhappy with my treatment. The doctor did a rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder. The doctor never wanted to hear my questions or concerns about the pain I was having for a full year of therapy. I had a second opinion from another doctor and surgery to repair the rotator cuff again. The last visit I had with dr gause. Went very bad. I was not allowed to ask questions and treated very rude by the dr. Once the dr left the room the nurse apologized for the dr. In my opinion he is very unprofessional.

Total the worst and is terrible at treating and has no beside me maners. You can obviously see the fractures in my finger and hand amd he told me to suck it up and tape it. He gave me terrible quality medical tape amd is forcing me to crack my knuckles even though they are broken and deformed. He is the absolutely worst doctor in this area. Whatever you do don’t see him he i terrible with children. Every other doctor and nurse said cast in but he said no i don’t feel like it. The way he is making me treat it is so bad and the way he bent my finger backwards I left my appointment crying in pain. This man isn’t the worst doctor ever.

Not a competent doctor. Carpal tunnel surgery was a disaster. Started out on a local anesthetic why?? Patient was in excruciating pain!could feel intense pain from the start! Had to locate an anesthesiologist to then put me completely under. Why wasn’ this suggested to patient from the start.?? What was supposed to be an hour surgery ended up several hours later with patient traumatized!! UPMC Passavant also has very poor skills in patient care . Don’t entrust your loved one’s care here!!

Horrible experience. Waisted 8 months of my life and spent 8 months in pain because of his failure to fix my hand. Kept giving me cortisone shots installing of repairing what was a torn tendon! Happy I left this doctor and went to a competent surgeon.

I had surgery for basal thumb joint arthritis and he did a wonderful job, only problem was a stitch or two was left in by the nurse, but I have no complaints. Everything went very well and now that the other thumb is bad, I would go back again
