How can a doctor refuse an appointment for your child???? Just filled out the form on the webpage and received a voice message stating that the doctor was not able to take the case, not able to follow up. Strange answer?? Are you a neurologist or not??

I went to Dr. DeSouza with my 3 year old severly behind stepson. I had know for some time that something was off when he wouldn't/couldn't talk was still in diapers had severe anger issues rage, hitting, tantrums. Dr DeSouza found us a therapist to help and worked with our peditrician and the therapist to order the proper tests and evaluations to come up with several diagnosis including FASD, intermittent explosive rage disorder, ADHD. He was put on an anti psychotic and was finally able to live some sort of normal childhood life. He is now working with us to determine the proper medication to deal with his ADHD. He is such a different child he is now talking, in school and I'm not getting phone calls everyday, he is finally out of diapers and getting all the specialized therapy he needs. I thank dr desouza and his staff for all there help and for answering all of our questions and concerns thru this diffucult long process.

Dr. Desouza diagnosed my child with a fatal genetic disorder with no labs or anything just from a 15 minute exam, despite 4 generations of confirmed diagnoses of a non-fatal genetic condition that has some of the same symptoms. Even when I questioned him as to why he would discount 4 generations of another genetic issue and could he please also test for the issue that had affected my family, he was insistent that it was this fatal disorder. Needless to say I took my child to another doctor who using blood tests confirmed the non-fatal genetic issue and ruled out the fatal disorder. The other doctor only ran the test for the fatal disorder to calm me, she knew it was going to be negative. I am not the only parent who had suffered through Dr. DeSouza dianosing their child with a life-altering illness only to have it correctly diagnosed by another doctor.
