In 2009 Dr. Khan earned a master’s …degree in clinical research from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, with her thesis focusing on the effects of systemic inflammation in adolescents with obesity and asthma.
Dr. Khan’s academic and research interests are in cardiometabolic risk factors in adolescents with obesity. In December 2010 she was awarded a K-23 Career Training Award from the National Institutes of Health for examining the effects of weight loss on atherogenic risk in distinct obesity phenotypes in adolescents.
