Dr. Urmila Parthasarathy, DO

Dr. Parthasarathy canceled all my recurring mail-order medications without warning or explanation. These are maintenance drugs, carefully tested long ago, and taken for decades under the aegis of other physicians. I’ve been tested yearly to confirm continued efficacy and safety, and I myself carefully monitor results. I asked her why. She never explained her reason, but repeated several times “that’s just the way I do it.” Then she insisted I submit another blood sample before she would renew, even though I had recently been tested. It’s a kind of extortion, meant to keep me returning every few months. I dropped her quickly as my Primary Care Physician. I should have researched better the first time. I urge you to check out other reviews on this and similar sites before you commit to Dr. Parthasarathy.

Our visit with this doctor was on Sept. 12th at 9:00 am. My husbaand could hardly walk or breath and was very weak. He had not eaten much of anything in over a week and was drinking very little even though we encouraged him to do so. I was feeling better but was still congested. My husbands oxygen level were low so the doctor examined me first and told my husband to take deep breaths and to stop watching the numbers on the meter, just breathe. She looked at our ears, nose and throat and listened to our chest. She diagnosed me as having a virus and my husband a sinus infection. She said she didn't thnk we had COVID, but said would test us and we didn't have to wait for results, they would call. Well, my husband continued to get worse and we had to take him to the emergency room where he was admitted at about 3:45 pm on the 13th, about the same time your nurse called to say we BOTH had COVID. I can see one mis-diagnosis, but two in a row! After spending 10 days in the hospital, my… husband is now being sent to an accute care center. I think this doctor needs to be re-evaluated. I pray she is talked to and our concerns expressed. In our minds, she is horrible and I will never see her again, NEVER! I'm not sure I will see any ARC doctor in Austin again.

Doctor barely spent any time with. Would ask me to breath and then when it was time to exhale, she would move the stethoscope without checking to hear the congestion. Kind of seemed she was in a hurry to leave.

I had a lot of changes going on, not just in my physical health but in my mental and emotional health as well, when I had my first vist with Dr. Partha. I was a mess when I went in but I left feeling hopeful, like I had a plan to get back on track. She listens well, and seem to know how to get you get you to open up about that little thing that you don't think is all that important but turns out to be key to whats messing with your healh more than anything else. Plus she has a great smile.

If I could give no stars for accurate diagnosis, I would. I ended up in the hospital in IMC the very next morning after visiting her office. She never took my blood despite my symptoms. Next morning I went to the ER and off to IMC I went with critical labs. She spent barely any time with me and was quite rude. Spent forever waiting as well.

I visited Dr. Parthasarathy for a clearance for surgery because my family physician was on maternity leave. She is extremely personable, assertive, and knowledgeable and addressed a couple issues from my lab results that I did not need addressed until after my surgery. Even though she was running late due to an earlier emergency, I felt that she had all the time in the world for me. As a new patient, that was really important. I may stay with her for good!

The doctor's care for me is better than I have found in a while and, on top of that, the office is close to my home! When she cared for my mother-in-law is was attentive, compassionate and extremely efficient. I never feel hurried and she actually listens to MY input on my illness.

She is very helpful and friendly, however, her staff is useless. Also if she is your PCM you will be required to see her for a referral even if it was an follow up for an ER visit. The staff is extremely useless and she is not there every day. Only 2/4 times I have need an appointment has she been there. So if you need a referral you are out of luck because she wont be there to sign it. And the staff will tell you too bad. Dont recommend for anything other than colds and typical illnesses.
