Utpal Desai, MD, is board certified in cardiothoracic surgery. After his medical education, he went on to complete his residency in general surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He continued with a cardiothoracic/vascular surgery fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian St. Lukeâ€™s Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Desai received additional training in endovascular surgery at New York Presbyterian University, the Hospitals of Columbia and Cornell.

dr desai operated on my heart (bypass ) he did a great job and eased my fears when i went for the consult. 2008 surgery.

Dr. Desai implanted a mitral heart valve and triscupid valve ring almost 3 years ago when I was 80 yrs. old. He explained the surgery risks to me and my children. His compassion and care releved me of all anxiety. I live a normal active life now and am grateful to Dr. Desai.

Dr. Desai is quick to become extremely angry and yells in a manner that is very threatening. He needs the advise of of other Dr's before he can make a decision on his own, unlike the other MD's that work in the practice. Dr. Wuamett and Dr. Litke are excellent physicians and I highly recommend them. Avoid Dr. Desai and wait for another physician in the office. If you do, you will find yourself in very good hands.
