Dr. Uzma Nayab Zafar, MD

Dr. Zafar did not appear caring or concerned and was a medicine pusher. 3 prescriptions after 30 min knowing her. Then told me to get my brain scanned and checked when I could not remember my dosage of a medication. How about I’m under a lot of stress but she didn’t listen and just spoke to me in a condescending rude manner.

Dr. Zafar is wonderful! She is brilliant, genuine and so kind. I am grateful to be able to see her. She has truly helped me more than any other doctor. Her new location has a calming, peaceful atmosphere. Count yourself lucky if you are able to see her!

I recently stopped seeing Dr. Zafar after 4 1/2 years, because I moved out of state. Now that I’m no longer under her care, I feel like I can leave an honest review. Although she can come off as being a little guarded at first, she really does care about her patients. But you have to want to be there, and you have to want help. Keep your appointments, be on time, and work with her to find a solution to your issues. Remember that she is a human being too, and she deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. The same goes for the office staff, who are really wonderful ladies. I almost never waited longer than 15 minutes the entire time I saw her. In fact, if I got there early, I usually saw her early. That was always amazing. I saw a couple of reviews talking about communication issues—a couple of years ago, communication was a little bit of an issue, but they’ve improved a lot. When I first started seeing her, I had a couple of times where I waited a week for a call back,… but in the last two years I don’t think I waited more than a day. In short, I highly recommend Dr. Zafar, but you have to do your part as a patient.

Dr Zafar started seeing me when I was at my worse ever. She helped me so much and took a lot of time with me. She’s always listens and tries to help with meds and dosing. For the past year I’ve gone through 6 different medicine arrangements. She has been patient and kind through it all. Always concerned and helpful. Mental illness is so hard to deal with, the Dr makes a huge difference. I had 2 not so great and one terrible doctor before her.

Best geriatric psychiatrist in town! My father is under her care and doing great. Before I took him to her he had been in and out of hospitals with no proper care or diagnosis. Dr Zafar carefully listened, adjusted his meds, explained some of his symptoms were from drug drug interactions and kept him on the most effective low dosages. He is more clear headed now, more manageable and must importantly has not had a hospitalization for over two years.

It took me some time to warm up to her honestly. I went to another doctor because I wasn't happy at first but then I realized I preferred Dr. Zafar. Shrinks are never fun anyway

The wait time can be a little long which is why I am giving her 4 stars. Other than that, she is great and supportive. Funny too!
