Buyer Beware – I know a little something about what an excellent patient experience looks like, and I speak to healthcare organizations around the county on this subject and have published several articles. Dr. Subramamian is not an example, not even close. Read on to find out why - I chose Dr. Subramanian to help track down the cause of some intermittent blood in my urine. He performed a cystoscopy and ordered a CT Scan. Upon receiving the results of the CT Scan, a family friend, a radiologist, took a look and observed something that was missed by the radiologist, who provided the report to Dr. Subramanian. Knowing we are all human and that mistakes are made, I thought sharing this news with Dr. Subramanian would be appropriate. After all, if there was now something new, I wanted Dr. Subramanian to look into it further and give me his assessment. Given its potential role in obstruction or infection, I did not know if this new finding is anything to worry about or something… that needs additional investigation. I was shocked, appalled, and deeply disappointed at Dr. Subramanian’s reaction when we spoke. He told me that my friend, the radiologist was just wrong, that this item did not exist. I was blown away that a Doctor who is not formally trained and licensed as a radiologist would say this thing didn’t exist without further investigation. I saw it with my own eyes. His attitude and approach were one of not caring, not interested, and that his work was done. It felt like I had just been used for money. He told me I might want to get a second opinion. He did not offer up his time or interest to investigate this finding further, nor did he help me with my questions about what to do now. He left me hanging. Whatever happened to the Hippocratic Oath? Although I don’t fault Dr. Subramanian as a human being, we all make mistakes and have bad days. However, I do fault him as a physician for not taking care of me as his patient. I will not only take his advice for a second opinion, but I will also find another Urologist for my future care. I should have known something was not right when I observed the entire office staff not enjoying their job, making me feel I was just an interruption in their day. Buyer Beware

Dr.Subramanian is an awesome doctor. He is a caring person. He politely declined to shake hands with me because he had just recovered from a health situation and did not want to pass it on to me. He was punctual and listened patiently. He explained to me the various options and risk factors involved, to take care of my situation clearly. He waited and asked me several times if I had any questions. I am sure that he takes great care of his patients.

I have had kidney issues for over 50+ years and have seen 3 different urologists in this time. Dr. Subramanian has been wonderful in helping me with my problem. He is knowledgeable, caring and his entire staff is wonderful. Highly recommend Dr. Subramanian.

Subramanian's office is disorganized or understaffed. 8 minutes on hold before human answered. Met doctor once; seemed concerned and good listener, but office is poor.

I'm a retired R.N. and my husband is a retired physician, so I've worked with and been around medical professionals for over 40 years. I have never met a physician as rude and arrogant as Dr. Subramamian !!! I not only will not bring my mother back to him I will make sure that everyone I know will know what a horrible experience we had . He is the type of doctor that gives medicine a bad name.

Dr. Subramanian is not my usual urologist but I needed to see him as Dr. Shirvani was out of the office. I drove to Plano in rush hour traffic for the hospital not to have my xray order. After waiting 45 minutes for the office to open, I was able to get it done and rushed to the office in extreme pain. The office staff was great. The dr. Was extremely rude. Even greeted me with "Hi, I'm Dr. Subramanian. Exactly what are you expecting from me?" And gave me a rude stare. I explained about my kidney stone, even brought all of my xray from previous visits. He looked at the disc and looked at me and said "there's no way a kidney stone, even 50 times bigger would cause you pain in the location it is. Actually, that's an exaggeration, we will go with 10 times bigger. You will need to see your primary doctor and go see pain management." I looked at him very confused and said "there's nothing you can do? You're just going to send me out looking for pain management?" (I'm a nurse, he doesn't… know that. I don't take pain medication unless it's a serious need.) He says " I see you don't like that option. If you don't like it, you can always follow up with Dr. Shirvani for another opinion, since he knows you better than I do." I left in disgust. I've never been treated with such disrespect from a dr. In my life. I would never EVER recommend this man to anyone. Not even a dog. I called this morning to release my reports to another dr and explained the situation. The person I spoke to couldn't believe it. Neither can I.
