Thorough and caring, Dr. Rusch removed a large benign mass in my back. She described what was to be done concisely and with clarity. Four other doctors turned down the surgery. Fortunately, I got the absolute expert! The care too at Sloan Kettering was superb. Every technician, nurse, and doctor not only provided but anticipated my needs. They did for example tests when finding slight heart arrhythmia. The nursing staff proved friendly, effective, and health-wise. I am a week after surgery well into recovery. I am grateful to all at MSLCC.

Excellent, superior skills, lousy bedside manner. This is not an intentional, negative attitude, it seems like a social awkwardness. Nonetheless, you do not get that very important aspect from this Dr. She does surround herself with an excellent team, who compensate for this. If you know this going in, then you know why you are making the choice for Dr Rusch's incredible expertise. If you find out 'during' your experience, how little contact you will have with her, while vulnerable, it's a bit shocking and terribly scary and frustrating. But you will walk away, regardless, having been surgically taken care of by the best.
