Dr. Victor L. Perez Quinones, MD

Dr. Perez had a nice enough bedside manner, but he was very dismissive of my eye condition, perhaps because he didn't feel it was severe enough to warrant his time. He didn't seem to recognize or appreciate the impact it has on my quality of life. He briefly answered my questions, but he seemed irritated by them. Maybe he should stick to research alone.

I have been going to Dr Perez routinely for 7 years after I had a severe chemical burn that left me blind in both eyes when I was 22 years old. I am 29 now and not only has Dr Perez made a difficult journey bearable but has made everyone around him better. He is simply the best and I thank god everyday that I am under his care.

Exceptional

I went to him for cataract surgery. The pre-surgery evaluations was done by someone else. For the surgery, my IV had infiltrated and I was awake and in excruciating pain for the entire surgery. I tried to tell him but they tied my hands and strapped my head. He told me to be quiet. Afterward, my eye was swollen and blood red for a week afterward. He put stiches in. I went to another surgeon for the other eye and it went much better. I wasn't in pain for the surgery and there was no swelling afterward. Dr Perez seems nice but he didn't care that I was in pain. I tried to tell him during the surgery but he just told me to keep still - that talking made my eye move. I don't trust him and would not recommend anyone go to him for surgery. He delegates almost everything to another doctor. I think he's just been around too long and used to be the "best". Time to retire. I waited over an hour to be seen by another doctor before I could get seen by Dr. Perez. Then on the day of… surgery, my surgery was delayed three times. I fell asleep in the waiting room because it was five hours late. Bascom Palmer is not impressive at all. After surgery, they made me wait an hour to leave. I asked why since I didn't get any anesthesia. The nurse just walked away. They told me that I had to eat before I could leave and put a tray with soup in front of me. I didn't touch it. Eventually they took it away and discharged me. The valet was the nicest person I met that day.

My fiancé and I met with Dr. Victor Perez for a failed ptergygium. Dr. Perez said he could do buccal mucosa graft on my left eye and it would heal back to normal and look like my right eye. Once the surgery completed it looked like I had a large pink bulge in the white of my eye. It was horrible. Dr. Perez said that is all he could do. The procedure has never been reversed! Later, I found Dr. Scheffer Tseng who was honored to be the first doctor to reverse what Dr. Perez failed to do. My options were to live with possibly losing my left eye with hemorrhaging or try another surgery. Dr. Tseng filmed the reversal and repaired my eye. Thank God! I would have never gone to Dr. Perez knowing I was a ginny pig to this surgery. Dr. Victor Perez lied to my fiancé and I and failed to do his job.

Dr. Perez is not only a " miracle worker," but he is a Rock Star Doctor. He is extremely compassionate and caring. No other opthomologist could help me. I am so fortunate to have been directed to him.
