Dr. Victoria L Pillard, MD

We had been with Holyoke Pediatric Associates for many years with a different doctor. When he died we were switched to Dr Pillard. A month later I went to her for a sick child appointment because of my 3 year olds rash in her diaper. I was told she has psoriasis and given steroid cream. I gave her the cream for 9 weeks until we got into a dermatologist. During this time I went back to Dr Pillard twice because the rash was worse and my child was suffering. I was told to keep going and that the dermatologist could provide better treatment. When I saw the dermatologist she was furious and told me we had to get her to the hospital immediately because this was a critical yeast infection. At the hospital they found my daughter now had sepsis and needed to be admitted. Dr Pillard came in and asked me why this child was so bad. I told her she had told me it was psoriasis and I did everything she told me. Everyone stopped and stared at her. Dr Pillard turned on me and yelled at me that this… was obviously not psoriasis and that I was abusing my child. The attending pediatrician of the hospital took me out of the room while Pillard was still ranting. He told me to please turn over care directly to him and he would remove Pillard from my daughter's care immediately. I did that. We then had to deal with a social worker questioning us for neglect and abuse and had to be watched around our own child for 24 hours until they decided whose fault this was. I filed against the Pillard with my insurance company. My daughter finally got the care she deserved and we found a new pediatrician for her. We only had her care for three months and my daughter has literal scars from the damage done to her skin. This woman should not be around children.
