Dr. Vivian S Hernandez, MD

We really love Dr. Hernandez, she has been my 4 daughter's doctor for over eight years now (since the birth of my oldest). She alway takes her time and makes direct contact and conversation with my girls. she has developed a relationship with my girls and myself. Any concerns i have her staff is quick to schedule an appointment and they always show thier professionalism. overall i could not ask for a better doctor and staff.

While Dr. Hernandez was perfectly nice, she didn't really take any time to connect with my son (age 2) and I during our first visit with her. She took no time to ask about past medical history, and seemed in a huge rush to get in and get out. She didn't even ask me if I had any concerns I wanted to ask her about - I was stunned. She wrote a prescription for something without telling me what it was for (I later saw it was liquid vitamins). I told her as she was running out the door that I had a concern, so she stopped in the open doorway. I had to ask her to come back in and close the door, as my son's medical issues aren't anyone else's concern. She diagnosed his rash as eczema in under fifteen seconds, scribbled "hydrocortisone or lotion" on a piece of paper and told me to "use this". After my son's rash continually worsened, I took him to urgent care only to find out that he had RINGWORM.We switched to Dr. Miller (same practice) and are MUCH happier. Don't bother with Dr. Hernandez -… you'll be another number and you won't get the treatment you and your kids deserve.

I took my 2 daughters to Dr. Hernandez because our pediatrician retired and she was in the same group. They both had Raynauds Syndrome - but she accused my high school (older) daughter of faking it for attention! Both of my daughters were tremendously fatigued and had various other symptoms. I knew something was wrong. She giggled at our concerns! She decided to do lab work.We got no where.Not but a few days later, a hospital ER doctor said they both had undertreated asthma, and told me he couldn't believe a dr in the San Joaquin Valley would not have noticed.We kept digging on the fatigue and other symptoms, and a few years later BOTH of my daughters were independently diagnosed with Celiac Disease, both while at teaching universities, where they were attending college. What a relief after years of getting no where on several chronic issues.
