Dr. Wael Kouli, MD

Dr. Kouli is fellowship trained in bariatric surgery. He was trained by one of the nationÂ’s leaders in bariatric surgery, Robert E. Brolin, MD. During his residency and fellowship, Dr. Kouli performed a wide variety of bariatric operations including open and laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypasses, and adjustable gastric banding. Dr. Kouli practiced in the Philadelphia community and central New Jersey areas for the last six years. He is now a resident of Mays Landing, New Jersey, and happy to be serving in southern New Jersey as a bariatric and general surgeon. Dr. Kouli graduated from Aleppo University Medical School in 1996. He started his internship in surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and then proceeded to Drexel University in Philadelphia for his surgical residency. He completed his surgical training in 2004. Dr. KouliÂ’s dedication to his bariatric patients during his residency prompted him to complete a fellowship in laparoscopic and …bariatric surgery at the University Medical Center at Princeton in Princeton, New Jersey. Certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Kouli is an active member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery. He is also a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.
