Dr. Welda Trilles Donato-Duque, MD

Dr. Duque is a great doctor and was with me since my adolescent years. I was even surprised to see her when I was admitted into the hospital for a brief period. However, she is quick to change up your meds if after a short period of time you still don't feel an effect. Unknown to most people, meds take a few weeks to take full effect and Dr. Duque will change them up before I feel the meds can take full effect. As most psychiatrists, she is always in a rush because she is always late but that is expected. Overall, I am willing to wait to see Dr. Duque because in all actuality she does care for her patients and listens to their needs.

I wish Dr. Duque could be cloned so that every child/adolescent would have access to such quality psychiatric care. She is definitely an advocate for her patients, even taking the time at one visit to call my grandson's school counselor and placing the call on speaker phone so I could hear. The school counselor had neglected to send reports to Dr. Duque and couldn't explain why my grandson had no follow-through on special education courses my grandson was supposed to begin months earlier.In the most professional language, Dr. Duque essentially outlined the school counselor's negligence and incompetence over the course of months and said my grandson's health was compromised by her.Dr. duque then proceded to call the school principal and provided a report on the counselor. The principal said she was very grateful for Dr. Duque's input and promised to oversee the counselor.From that time on, Dr. Duque received timely and in-depth reports from the school and my grandson said he liked his… new classes and special education teachers. His self-esteem and confidence dramatically improved.Dr. Duque doesn't chit-chat. She asks poignant questions and listens intently to the answers. She observes body language and eye contact and, when in her office, you feel like you're the only patient she has.She is gentle, kind, caring and current on all child and adolescent studies about medications and treatments.As I said, I wish Dr. Duque could be cloned so every child and adolescent could have access to the best of the best.

Exceptional pychiatrist. Listened to my concerns as a mother and dealt judiciously with my son, identifying his manipulations while addressing his genuine needs.
