Dr. Wendy St Clair Crenshaw, MD

It’s taken me awhile to write a review about my experience with dr. Crenshaw but i must say that i was extremely disappointed with the care i received while i was a patient of hers. My husband and i had been trying to get pregnant for a year and we went to her to start doing some testing. Our initial though was she was great, proactive and ordered all of the right tests. We went back a few months later to get the test results and she diagnosed me with PCOS and said it was due to my testosterone levels being high. She said my husband’s semen analysis was normal. So she put me on 3 months of chlomid to get us pregnant. Meanwhile i did my own research on PCOS and none of the symptoms fit me. I always get my period every month, i was ovulating regularly and didn’t have the characteristics of a typical PCOS patient but i stuck to the chlomid for 3 months and trusted my dr. The chlomid was pretty brutal on my body so naturally i was extremely devastated when i didn’t get pregnant… after the 3rd month. We went back to her and at that point she referred us to a fertility specialist. We went to one specialist that she referred us to and he we weren’t impressed with him so we did our own research and found another dr. That we ended up loving and trusting. Much to our surprise he went over all of our initial testing and said my blood work was all in the normal range and that i did not have PCOS (he later. Informed this further with an ultrasound of my ovaries). He did find that my husband had low sperm morphology and that was the root of our problem. So you can imagine our frustration after learning that i did 3 months of chlomid that took a toll on me, and that insurance did not cover, and the time that was wasted while doing it all for nothing. We ended up getting copies of all of our testing and could plainly see that she completely misdiagnosed me and did not diagnose my husband. I’m writing this review to encourage others to be your own advocate and always get copies of everything. I wish we had initially and it would’ve saved us so much time and heartbreak. We hope that nobody else has the experience that we had. I’m still getting bills from these follow-up appointments that i never should’ve had in the first place so it’s been extremely frustrating.

Have had two consults with Dr Wendy Crenshaw to follow up with test results carried out in my country before moving to Bakersfield. I found Dr Crenshaw to be a very patient listener who willingly answered all my questions and took time explaining what was involved in the colposcopy procedure. It’s so nice not to be rushed. Her warm doctor-patient manner immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease.I would highly recommend Dr Crenshaw.

Dr Crenshaw was not my doctor, but when I went into labor with my second child, my doctor was on vacation. During my C Section, my baby's FACE WAS CUT OPEN. Dr Crenshaw never said a word until a nurse said, " Doctor.....", To which she replied, "I know. I see it ". We were panicked. My husband asked what was wrong and Dr Crenshaw simply stated , " Its fine. It happens all the time." . After the delivery, we never saw her again. She did not follow up with us in the hospital. I would never recommend her to anyone.

Hopefully Dr. Crenshaw has gained an abundance of experience and wisdom, and has improved since treating me when I was pregnant with my first child. I went to Dr. Crenshaw after being seen in the ER and having surgery for endometriosis. She was treating me for this condition when she offered to try an experimental drug (it was a medication administered via nasal spray) that would essentially put me into a type of menopause that would stop my menstrual cycle, so I had no reason to be alarmed or concerned when I had no period. Dr. Crenshaw neglected to do the one essentially crucial test before prescribing this medication...even though she knew I was sexually active.....a pregnancy test!!!! Now that I'm older I understand how incredibly stupid this was and that Dr. Crenshaw should have known better and done a routine pregnancy test. As a result of this negligence and unbelievable oversight I switched to another doctor before I delivered.....Thank God! Thankfully, my child had no… detectable birth defects or medical issues and has grown up to be a very healthy and happy adult. Do your homework before letting someone bring your child into the world...you only get the one chance!

First visit with Doctor Crenshaw left me completely at ease. She was very nice and well informed. Took plenty of time with me. I would highly recommend her.

She was horrible. I had her for my first child and when I complained of pains early in the pregnancy she simple said she didn't know. I had to research to figure out it was fibroids. She does not explain anything; I had to rely on my sister-in-law for answers. It was a shame to go through my first pregnancy and to have this woman as my primary doctor. It was a blessing that my child arrived early and that I had to go through another doctor for delivery. The new doctor asked more questions prior to my c-section than Crenshaw asked through every prenatal visit. Oh yah, one more thing, every time I saw her, she asked my nameâ?¦great for a first time pregnancy!

Dr. Crenshaw is not what I expected out of a doctor, I always thought they would be informative especially since this is my first pregnancy. She is a get in, get out type of doctor, didn't show any kind of concern for me or any questions i had. I've seen her twice and within those times she did not once tell me, what i should expect, how much weight is safe for me to gain, and when i would ask questions she would give me yes and no answers only, no explanations, and then continue with "Okay? Is that all?" If you are the type who knows whats going on and doesn't need questions answered. Go to her. But if not, don't waste your time. Because it seems she doesn't want you to waste any of hers.

I was so excited to be pregnant for the first time and seeing a doctor for that first pregnancy visit. I left in tears. Seems like all she could talk about was my weight. She seem to be more attentive to the fact that I was over weight than the fact that I was pregnant. I felt horrible.

Dr. Crenshaw's bed side manners are horrible and makes you feel very uncomfortable.
