Won't let me post my negative review so I'll just say, "Do your research and think twice before you make a decision who you let cut on you !!!!

I had back surgery on the 24th of Jan, and I am in the process of healing right now, and will hopefully be able to walk right when all is said and done. The people on here criticizing Dr McCallister for his bedside manner, need to know that he is not a typical primary care provider, that really get to know their patients. They do that because normally you are with a PC for many years, there is a huge difference between them and a specialist. Dr Mcallister comes in, identifies the problem and does his best to fix it. He is not there for chit chat, he doesn't care about your dog, or your trip to Bermuda. Just the medical problem, and how he can fix it. I feel like people are being unfair in their comments. I found him to be professional, and to the point. Plus, Riverside Regional hospital was very good to me, caring and concerned. I thank Dr Mccallister and everyone who assisted in my care.

Dr. Mcallister is a doctor that I would not take my dog to see. I found him to be an abrupt, arrogant, curt, and uncaring. I was asking a question when he abruptly got up and walked out without a word. If there were 0 stars, this would be my rating. When I left, I was asked about a follow up appointment. Never with him. He was the worst doctor I had ever encountered.

I don't rate doctors on how their words make me feel. I rate them on how their procedures make me feel. This is the guy you want messing with your head.

Dr Mcallister is wonderful, staff around him are another story.

I was seeing another physician in his office for 6 months after a severe car accident in which I suffered a compression fracture of the T12, who was great. Initially, the first physician thought due to my age I should have healed with conventional course of medicine but with the pain I was still experiencing he ordered an MRI (which the physician did not go by what the radiologist reported) he issued a bone scan. This bone scan showed bright white and a definite area of concern at the site of the compression fracture. The original physician recommended the Kyphoplasty surgery but was hesitant due to my age and that I don't have osteoporosis. Dr McAllister came in the room and was initially warm, pleasant and asked me why I was with him. I told him why and he immediately told me he would NOT do the surgery because of my age and that I don't have osteoporosis. He went on to say that in a medical journal that was just published that people my age should not get it and this is fact… so he won't do it. I was so taken back my his lack of explanation with nothing to show. He didn't touch my back, asked me do how do I feel since the accident which I feel better but even then I didn't know I had a compression fracture. I explained about the pain I was having and it seemed as if it went in one ear and out the other. What was the final straw was when he we discussed my job, (one of the requirements, I lift a 160 lb dummy) his comment was "you just may not be able to do your job," All of this, lasted maybe 10 minutes and I walked out with ANOTHER doctor's note to put me on light duty, medication which I read up on and it's for oste-arthritis and if you've had blood clots, you shouldn't take it. I had a pulmonary embolism in 2004 ad another appointment in 2 months. I've dealt with numerous physicians in my life due to the military and he topped the cake. I will be looking for another physician because as he put it, a woman of my age, I should not have this pain.
