Dr. William Benton Hale, MD

He was kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He actually seems to understand the science around his field as well as others and doesn't have his blinders on about things that occur in other disciplines, which is something I commonly see. I've been seeing a lot of doctors lately, and this was the best appointment I have had. I came away with answers and more knowledge, as well as feeling heard. I also had a follow up question and his PA was kind and knowledgeable as well. Would reccommend.

I found Dr Hale to be wonderful. Great bedside manor. Great doctor with many years of experience. I took off 1 star because the nurse blew my vein. I wish I could show a photo. It took well over a week for it to heal.

HORRIBLE experience with this often highly touted gastroenterologist in Fairfield County. Had the same horrible experience with him a few years ago (with a similar problem which he couldn't have cared less about) and yet, because I was encouraged by another doctor I trusted to only see him with the still-unfixed problem I had, I went to see him again. My bad. I have NEVER experienced such a hostile, really cruel M.D., and believe me, I've seen many doctors, since I've had myriad health problems across many years. I don't even know where to begin with his rude, unprofessional, ugly treatment of me. I walked into his office feeling physically horrible, and I walked out feeling exponentially worse --both physically and emotionally. Someone needs to remind him of the ethical promise he took so many years ago: First, Do No Harm. Dr. Hale: if you only want slam dunk, easy-peasy cases, hire someone to better screen out the kinds of gastro problems you don't want to deal with… (clearly, among others, mine!). Have you considered the "R" word? It's time.

Had a colonoscopy at the Norwalk Hospital facility that I was dreading, but Dr. Hale and the staff there made it easy and comfortable. The facility is spa-like and everyone who works there was really nice and attentive, including Dr. Hale.

He is quite nasty and rude and uncaring- he discriminates against people with certain issues- many doctors have serious relating issues despite their title MD and he is one of them

Dr. Hale is the best as far as I'm concerned. He listens, takes his time and thoroughly explains procedures, what's going on with my body and treatment alternatives. Years ago he was my GP and I sure wish he could be now. He's the absolute best doctor anyone could hope to have. Marilyn, who's been with him for many years is terrific. I'm grateful for all the years of excellent care my husband and I have received from him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hale's for nearly twenty years and have always been impressed with him as a physician, a clinician and a caring individual. He takes time to fully understand the problem and works hard to come up with an explanation. I will see him until he retires which I hope is not for many, many years.
