Dr. William Ortega San Pablo, MD

Our experience with Dr. Sanpablo has been quite the opposite of the other opinions on here. He has shown the utmost respect toward our daughter. Dr. Sanpablo has a very thorough bedside manner, taking the time to explain his thoughts and process to our daughter and us. He has given us time to consider options without feeling pressured. I can respect and appreciate the years of experience he brings to each of our visits, as his #1 goal is to find a treatment plan that will work. Unfortunately with our daughter's disease, there are side effects of medication; however, to let her suffer without proper care would be negligent on our part as parents. A quality of life for our daughter will outweigh the side effects and even then you have to leave things up to God and what his ultimate plan is for your child. Sanpablo and staff have always been prompt at addressing any of our questions or concerns. If you want a physician who will provide the best care without all the fluffy frills, choose… Sanpablo.

This doctor used bully and scare tactics as well as misleading information to put my son onto a long-term treatment without disclosing all of the negative side effects of the treatment. This doctor's bedside manners are abysmal and his desire to listen to patients, parents, or other doctors is visibly negligent - he is always right and if a parent dare to contest him or request a second opinion from an outside source, he tries to remove your parental rights and pushes ahead with his own recommendations. Requests for peer review at the hospital he was practicing at were usually met with "that is how he is, we have learned to live with it". requests to change specialist were responded to with "he is the specialist that is in charge of your son's condition".

In my opinion Dr. San Pablo doesn't seem interested in individual patient care. He takes a common medical protocol and applies it to all his patients regardless of individual needs or medical nuances. He doesn't listen to parents of patients and scoffs at suggestions of other treatment methods.During our visits we routinely waited about 40 minutes. This isn't all in one place, however. The staff is very good about moving your around. First you have to go to the front desk and answer a write down your name, then a while later go back when they call you and answer questions, then someone else will call and you go answer the same questions again. Finally, a nurse will take you and your child into the first room, ask the same questions again. Then you may get a room (our first time we were sent back to the lobby where they forgot about us for another 30 minutes). Next another nurse will come in and, same questions again. Finally the doc will come in, average 40 minutes later in… our visits, scoff at you and leave.
