The office is run very efficiently. My lab work is not reviewed with me. I have received prescriptions in the mail due to lab results indicating a deteriorating condition.

I had heard negative things about Dr. Shergy's bedside manner. I heard he was somewhat rude and short with patients. I found him to be courteous and attentive to my questions. Not at all like the comments I had heard.

Was reading these reviews and I have got to say my dad was on his way to dying when shergy turned him around and gave him 4 more years. Staff at the Florence office has always been very good.

I would not recommend him to my enemy. He yells at you and tries to make you feel like you are stupid. I was trying to tell him what was going on, but he refused to listen and kept talking over me. He was going to send me to another doctor but forgot to call him. He is a waste of time! Go see anyone else but him!!!!

Not impressed. I saw him today for rheumatoid after being assured by my gp that I wouldn't be wasting my time. Wrong. I knew I had fibromyalgia. I am already taking cymbalta for fibromyalgia I was referred because of possible rhuematoid. He said I gave iatrogenic arthritis not sure about rhuematoid didn't even look at my X-rays. Appt was at one pm . Office staff more concerned with collecting copay which my 2nd insurance pays. They tried to make me pay it 3 times. I saw him at 230. No personality. I told him if something was wrong with me ok if not pat me in the head and say I was having a bad day and tomorrow would be better. But he gave me flexerill ( muscled relaxer) which I don't want (I do good enough to take my cymbalta) and hold me my sleep was messed up even tho I take lunesta.... More lab work and come see him again in 2 months. Not impressed.

He was finally convinced I actually had rheumatoid arthritis when my right elbow froze up. Had me in tears at every visit. Did not believe me when I described symptoms and when they occurred. DO NOT say you are interested in collecting disability on their forms. You will be labeled and treated poorly.

I read other reviews here and offer some advice: patients have a responsibility to be their own advocate. Many doctors respond to this favorably. If you can write a survey, you can learn about your condition. As for Dr. Shergy, he saved my life when no one else had a clue. I got Remicade 6 years before FDA approval for my condition, all thanks to the heroic efforts of Dr. Shergy.

Dr. Shergy was just great. He listened, asked many questions, and seemed to understand completely about my problem. When my insurance was troublesome about my getting the prescription I needed, his assistant, Susan, was absolutely wonderful about helping us through. We couldn't have asked for more from Dr. Shergy or his staff.
