Summary
I was born in Newport News, Virginia, but mainly, grew up in Brooklyn. I was fortunate to be involved in a four-year hospital program for high school students interested in health professions, where I worked on the wards with the nurses and assisted doctors in the emergency room. I attended college and medical school in New Jersey, and returned to Brooklyn for residencies in general surgery and ob-gyn. I was always curious about the West Coast, and most of my husband_s family was living there, so I moved to Seattle. We have two grown children, four stepchildren, and nine step-grandchildren, but we_re now empty nesters, living with our three cats.
