Dr. Zahir Ali Momin, MD

Dr. Momin was my admitting doctor at seton hospital after being transferred from ER. I was extremely disappointed with him. He was impatient with questions and judgmental, and worse, his treatments were at times illogical (i.e. telling me I couldn't be released until could demonstrate could tolerate solid food well, then also telling me would likely release me the next day but wouldn't approve solid food for my meals...how can he see if I can tolerate solid food if he won't let me eat it??). And, he gave ZERO follow up instructions (I double checked with the nurse upon discharge - she couldn't find any in the notes either). I was discharged with 3 days of prescription supplements, but no instructions on when to go see a doctor or get re-checked, even though upon discharge my levels were still critically out of whack in some cases. Even the pharmacist asked me what I was supposed to do after the 3 days when she filled the Rx...and I told her I had been given zero instructions -… she looked horrified and said I needed to go to a primary care doctor to get re-checked. I did that of course, but was frankly shocked that Dr. Momin would discharge me with no follow up instructions whatsoever. My levels got dangerously low over the weekend that I was in the hospital which required out-of-process lab work and attention, and I can only be thankful that Dr. Momin was not the doctor in attendance that weekend, as I don't believe he would have paid enough attention to have caught the situation which was quite serious. The doctor who was covering that weekend was very attentive - I was lucky she was there and not Dr. Momin.

Dr Momin is like Florida sunshine/Orange juice in the morning. I can't rate this guy high enough...words fall short!!

I met Dr. Momin in the ER where he quickly ascertained how my problem occurred. However I'm now on hospital time (uhg).
