Dr. Zeyad Morcos has the following 3 specialties
- Vascular Neurology
- Sleep Medicine
A sleep medicine specialist is specially trained in diagnosing and treating disorders involving sleep.
Sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and insomnia are very common and can often cause other serious health issues, such as depression, asthma, and migraines. Sleep medicine specialists often work in sleep centers where they observe a patient while sleeping and monitor brain waves, behavior, and vital signs in order to identify the causes of sleep disturbance, or an inability to sleep (insomnia).
Sleep medicine specialists treat patients through advising on sleep hygiene, providing cognitive behavioral therapy, using light therapy, or medical sleep aides.
A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.

I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea many years ago. When I came to my present location I had an updated sleep study. Months ago, I had been having trouble with my bi-pap and was trying to work things out with the doctor's office. They were not helpful. Finally they changed the pressure, only to find out that the new pressure was way too low. I have been trying to get responses from the office. The other day, I called another neurologist so that I could change doctors. They couldn't see me for months, but I made an appointment anyway. As I way explaining to this receptionist who was very nice to me, she was able to look up the notes from Dr. Morcos office. She read to me the last note that was on my record of my call. It was a very extensive note of my last call to Dr. Morcos office. When I finally got a call back today from Dr. Morcos, he accused me of lying when I told of all the calls I had made. He said that his records don't show it. He was so unkind. I can't wait till I can see the other doctor. I would never recommend Dr. Morcos. There is a big problem with communication and documentation there.
This man came in just as I was getting discharged (had no idea he was coming in) & wouldn't allow the discharge until an mri was done. Without looking @any previous tests, he said I had a stroke & needed to stay another day. Did not discuss the mri with me @ all & another md needed to come in to cover his incompetence.
If you're ever in the hospital and Dr. Zeyad Morcos walks into your room --- RUN!!!! (if you're physically capable). He has the worst bedside manner I have ever witnessed from a physician. His condescending attitude and dismissive ways are something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. This man should never be in the company of any patient never mind their family members. For he likes to speak to his elderly patients as if they are toddlers - slowly asking "Do you understand Mr. X" as if my father was cognitively challenged?!? He suffers from Napoleon complex and certainly doesn't like to be interrupted and God forbid you ask any questions. Not sure why any hospital would keep him on their staff. He should not be able to practice medicine in this country. We had to lodge a formal complaint with the hospital and remove him from my father's care. The nursing staff was fully aware of his short comings as they had clearly heard similar complaints in the past. He should stick to research! And never deal with patients again! Or better yet - pull his medical license. The world would be a better place.
