Dr. Zhanna Rutstein-Shulina, DO

Sign on door says something like— be patient if you have to wait bc they give patients extra time; not. Dr Shulina was was not like that at all, unless u count the 1 minute she had her hand on the door as we tried to ask questions. She def was in a rush to get going as she was in whirlwind the 5 minutes she was in the room; not nurturing at alll very stressful. On top of that it took several phone calls to get an appt as desk kept deferring my condition to wait and see. Bad experience. Desk ppl Could use some public relations training

Dr. Shulina gave me the worst stress of my life. If you want a doctor that is supportive, this is not the physician for you.

We just delivered our first child with Dr. Shulina and can't imagine having any other ob. We delivered at St. Luke's Birthing Center, and Dr. Shulina supported all our needs and wants for a natural birth. Through her amazing skill, I avoided an episiotomy despite an hour of the baby crowning. She clearly loves her practice and supporting moms and babies. She was key to my successful natural birth.

I was so excited when I got prego last yr...tried to see Dr Bradley but she was booked up. So I took a chance and saw Dr Shulina. Normally I don't like to give bad reviews, but I've had so many bad experience at a very sensitive time in my life that I want to let other potential patients know. Dr. Shulina is not a good listener, doesn't regularly call back and her office staff is really the worst. A bit of detail: got a pap on 11/9/09, I did not update my phone number (my fault totally), there was a regularity (nothing serious) the office didn't have my number so they mailed me a letter to call them right away...the letter was post marked Dec 23! Letter gets to me on Dec 24th noonish...I panic and call, the office is closed until Mon 27th! I call 9am the 27th, get a call back at 4pm! Meanwhile I've had over 4 days of panic. I call a week later after I've taken the prescribed meds to ask if I should come in for follow up. No call back, I call back a week later, doc is on vacation...I… call 2 weeks later about a separate test question...still waiting 2 days later. Meanwhile over the span of almost a year, I've had complications with pregnancy and concieving and they have never treated me like a person! So I switched to Dr. Louise Chuu, who called me the day I left her a message AND spent 10min asking me about the details of my situation BEFORE my first appt with her. Dr Shulina is part of a practice with Dr Anna Rhee and Katrina Bradley..I've heard mix reviews about Rhee and a friend loves and had 2 babies with Bradley. But they won't let you switch doc within the practice. If you want impersonal quick treatment, Shulina is fine. If you have issues and want to be treated like a person DON'T go to her. I also emphasize that the office staff is awful and the wait was generally around 45min. This begs the question, what are 4-5 staff/nurses doing...other than chatting about their personal live which I've overheard.
