Dr. Elizabeth Ann Wegleitner, MD

I really hate to make this review but I must share my experience. I went to Dr. Wegleitner while I was pregnant and picked her to deliver my baby. Things have definitely changed from when we were children. If you had an OB during pregnancy - hell or high water that same OB delivered your child. That is the case for almost all family members 30+ years or more. Not the case here. I had an extremely traumatic delivery experience and Mercy unfortunately opted to use Residents instead of real doctors to deliver my baby. After being in labor for 40 hours it was determined that my baby wasn’t responding well to the labor (well obviously). I was taken for an emergency c-section. After being in the hospital 3 days I had not seen my Dr. Wegleitner at all. I actually barely saw a real doctor at all, just residents. I was given the shittiest post partum suite that they had - it was freezing and right next to a supply room (super noisy). To make matters worse, I could barely move around with my… baby in there. I opted to leave, early not simply because of appearance. I had an extreme preeclamptic event on day 2 - soaring blood pressure needing IV support. On day 3 - they literally checked my blood pressure 1 time. My mother who is a nurse practitioner simply said they could keep me safer at home. This reflects on Mercy and not Dr. W. She did not see me at all after delivery, however, that’s not why I am making this review. Dr. W install a Mirena on Nov 28 2033. After installation I bleed for 16 days. After being told that the soonest appointment they had was Feb 2024 - I had to make an appointment with Planned Parenthood. I just knew something wasn’t right. Turns out my Mirena was in my cervix, not my uterus. PP removed the device & told me that due to high blood pressure Dr. W needs to prescribe me a new form of BC. I called the office right after the planned parenthood appointment. I have yet to hear from her or her office about this and the nurse I talked to on Dec 16 did not even chart the conversation. I’m leaving 3 stars for good bedside manner. Otherwise I simply think that Dr. W has bit off more than she can chew. Very overworked, but definitely should not be taking new patients. She doesn’t even have time for the ones she has. I luckily have a new appointment with someone else sooner than Feb 2024. I truly wish Dr.W the best just hate this has been my experience.
