Dr. Hurst was recommended to me. Now it is my privilege to recommend him to others. He is professional yet it is like two friends sharing information when he is with you. It appears to me that compassion flows through his staff as well per his leadership. No question or concern go unanswered and no time is wasted. You need it explained twice, no problem. Excellent care from Dr. Hurst and his staff!!!

Dr.Hurst done rotator cuff surgery on me December of 2022 . He was awesome!!! He treats you like a human, listens to what hurts & knows how to fix it Right! I just love seeing & talking with him he always answers my questions! I saw him again today for injection into my shoulder he had done a mri to check on it last week & I saw him today he explained everything they found & said what he needed to do to help me! Dr Hurst is a knowledgeable, compassionate. He put me in a brand new shoulder. I was scared before the surgery. He talked to me and let me know everything would be okay. He did advise me about the pain after surgery and kept me comfortable. Definitely recommend him. Greg Saunders

he has the best bedside manners, very precise on the job needed and as well as explaining what is going on what is needed to fix the issues and always gets other drs opinions when needed.

You will not encounter a more compassionate and medically trained Orthopedic Surgeon. He takes the time to listen to you, and hear your thoughts and concerns. I was only 48 and he did much needed full knee replacement on me. Both knees. No complications at all. I feel very blessed. He's currently helping me with a chronic pain issue in my feet. I trust him explicitly!

First of all, Dr Hurst takes the time to listen. He hears what you say, asks questions and explains, in detail, his diagnosis of your problem. This is my second “ailment” to see him about. I really appreciate his smile, warmth and caring nature……something that is getting harder to find in today’s medical field. Watauga Orthopaedics is very fortunate to have someone like Dr Hurst????

Dr Hurst is a kind and caring doctor who will still laugh with me as I try to find humor in these situations. I don’t think I could make it through my condition without the care we receive in office and bedside manner he has at the surgery center. He has done surgery on my teen twice and got her out of a wheelchair. I am going through my second surgery with him soon. I trust him. He is educated in our rare condition and understands our needs. I would give him more stars if I could. And his nursing staff in the office are absolutely wonderful.
