Dr. Makida Bey is passionate about resilience therapy and coaching. Besides providing these services, Makida has been a guest speaker on topics that benefit from her years in experience, including PTSD, anxiety, psychological domains of health, cultural racism, and self care for individuals and communities. She has also assisted with workshops on topics such as microaggression, racial discourse, and how and when to engage others on difficult issues.

She holds a PsyD in Clinical Psychology (summa cum laude), an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Towson University, and a B.A. degree in Psychology from Alfred University. She also has Graduate Certificates from Harvard Medical School in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University, in Instructional Systems Design from the University of Maryland and in Leadership Coaching from The George Washington University. Makida has also completed coursework towards a Ph.D. in Work and Organizational Psychology at Aston University in the U.K. She is a Registered Psychology Associate in the state of Maryland. Makida is also in the process of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), working with high-anxiety clients through exposure and response therapy. She is a qualified mediator for community and court cases involving families and labor disputes.

Dr. Bey provides psychotherapy and coaching services to a limited number of clients. She specializes in anxiety, as well as those with mulicultural issues and imposter syndrome. These services can be conducted online, in-home, in-office or wherever you need them to be. Dr. Bey uses a HIPAA-compliant platform for online sessions, so you know your privacy and confidentiality will be protected. Your body language and facial expressions are important, and Dr. Bey uses them as a behaviorist to help you on your journey.
