Dr. Nihaal Prashant Karnik, MD

Dr. Nihaal Karnik is a therapeutic endoscopist, also known as an advanced or interventional endoscopist. He specializes in diagnosis, treatment and management of disorders of the pancreas and bile ducts (liver ducts), as well as in complex endoscopic procedures.After earning his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, Dr. Karnik completed his residency at Drexel University and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to complete his general gastroenterology fellowship training at SUNY University Hospital in Brooklyn.Afterward, he spent a year at the Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, focusing on therapeutic endoscopy and training with some of the pioneers in the field. During this time, Dr. Karnik became proficient in ERCP, diagnostic and interventional EUS, as well as advanced endoscopic resections."I am an advocate for patient-centered decision-making and using the most advanced and comprehensive technology to deliver the best care to my …patients," says Dr. Karnik.He is board certified in gastroenterology and in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.When he's not in the office, Dr. Karnik enjoys traveling, hiking, scuba diving and spending time with his family.
