Meet Dr. David Castro:

Dr. Castro is a psychotherapist in private practice currently accepting new patients, with evening and Saturday morning/afternoon hours available.

His practice is located on the Upper East Side of New York City. However, he is currently seeing patients through an HIPAA compliant online video format. Phone sessions are also available.

Dr. Castro treats a wide variety of conditions and psychological struggles, with areas of focus in:

These symptoms have distinct meanings for each person, and Dr. Castro’s approach remains flexible and deeply respectful of these meanings.

Dr. Castro completed his MSW degree at New York University and earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology at the Derner School of Psychology, Adelphi University.

He has advanced training in psychoanalysis and twenty years of clinical experience. For many years, he was an adjunct professor of graduate studies at the Derner School of Psychology, Adelphi University as well as a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at The City College of New York.  He is currently a faculty member at the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis.
